I Study in England, but am currently on placement in Holland at Onetomarket.

I’ve never heard of BSUR - what do they do exactly? And what is your role?

You are right though. Still, I think it’s a step in the right direction. It may not be perfect, but it’s showing people are starting to look in the right direction.

I agree with you, It’s a very interesting evolution of marketing, but one of the most interesting aspects is the freedom it gives to creatives. Here it’s like 1/100 of the potential is exploited. And how didn’t they take care of the air aspect??? It’s like watching Jurassic Park without dinosaurs

I agree that the creative execution is far from perfect. I think it’s good to see a large brand taking a risk in a way like this and try something new though. It’s about time the creatives woke up and smelled the coffee. This is the way of the future. People have spoken and said they liked Tay, so it’s only natural companies use him for ads. Should happen a lot more and hopefully will do in the future.

The thing I missed in this video, and which I thought was hilarious in the original, is how he kept moving away from the mic to get some air. Surely they could have incorporated that a bit more. They mentioned it, but they should have based the video around that.

I think the brand took a too easy way though, the commercial is to direct and makes no sense in a way. The use of Youtube stars can be very creative, can be funny, can be shocking, also the reach of a tv commercial is far way more than of a youtube video (at least for now!). Dr Pepper, instead, just took the guy and made him do the exact same thing as the original video, just in a contest with tits and asses floating around. And that’s not really creative at all…(and one great thing of viral marketing is that it can be really creative because has almost no boundaries)
