Twitter is a great resource of information. I use it for several reasons, but the most important is the information people share. Links, little nuggets of information, stats and answers to your question, you can get it all. When it’s not down, obviously!
One of the gems I found on there was posted by Marco Derksen on Twitter, a list of internet memes. Nothing special, as there are plenty of those right? But the presentation of this one is brilliant. It’s a timeline with memes added according to date. You can zoom in, click on each item to get more detailed information.
And besides the timeline view, you can also watch it in flipbook and maps format. A great mash up if I ever saw one! And most of the viral videos of the last few years you can think of are on the list.
Last week we posted the trailer. Now the full movie Inspiration, anyone? is online! This time it’s not only about the movie. The movie is a trigger to get people to the Get Inspired Here site.
At this site Microsoft wants to try and create an online marketing community and bring as much inspiration as possible to marketers and everybody in the marketing, advertising and publishing business, whether they are marketers, designers or developers.
There are a few examples on the site but Microsoft will really start at the Cannes Advertising festival, where we will try and capture as much inspirational content as possible and share it on this new platform.
The first movie was about conversation, now Microsoft needs to build in participation, and hopes to achieve this with the Get Inspired Here platform. Tell our community how you rate this video.
Through my network I got a tip about Become a Croatia Fan. Its a funny site that aks English soccer fans to become a Croatia fan during Euro2008.
To promote the site, there’s a Goalkeeper Challenge you can play. The game I find not that viral, but the rest of the site is really worth looking at.
There is also a Name Generator which allows you to create your name in Croatian (mine is Igor Beuker and I became Igor Beukerinec). You’ll get an e-mail containing your Croation Honorary Birth Certificate.
Since Croatia won its first match, maybe we can support them? How do you rate this Croatian idea? And feel free to post more funny Euro2008 virals below
Viral Friday is the weekly viral video chart of ViralBlog, showing the 10 most popular viral videos, commercials or user-generated videos, carefully selected and ranked by popularity, viral impact & spread.
This weeks Viral Friday #1 position goes to YouTube with Interactive Card Trick. YouTube added a new feature for video creators with which you can add interactive commentary to your videos. The runner up spot is for Giovanny Gutierrez with Why every guy should buy their girlfriend Wii Fit. Giovanny filmed his girlfriend while playing Wii Fit. Bad Day At The Office completes this week’s top 3. It all started when a guy accidentally (or not) pushed some paperwork off his colleagues desk…
Do you want to see this week’s list from 1 to 10? Go on then, and have a look! We’d like to hear your opinion about the virals. Have fun!
As far as I can remember (which, admittedly, isn’t very far!) Honda has always made highly qualitative ads. They are usually longer than the average ad, more elaborate and have a very high WOW factor.
Do you remember Microsoft’s Digital Advertising Solutions great viral videoBring The Love Back? The campaign won a Mixx Award in Belgium in the category brand awareness.
Now Microsoft is showing this new trailer of The Break Up Part 2, called Inspiration anyone? We got the tip from a secret source: a new movie will be released soon.
Tell us, what are your expectations of Inspiration, anyone? I feel it will make me smile again…
