This weeks Viral Friday #1 position goes to Radiohead with House Of Cards. Radiohead released the video clip for “House of Cards” from their latest album “In Rainbows” which uses no cameras or lights, only fancy lasers. The runner up spot is for Blendtec with Will It Blend? iPhone 3G. Once again the power of the Blendtec blender is tested, this time on the new iPhone 3G. Converse: My Drive Thru completes this week’s top 3. To celebrate it’s 100th anniversary the sneaker company called upon N.E.R.D, Julian Casablancas and Santagold to produce an exclusive single.

1. Radiohead: House Of Cards

English alternative rock band Radiohead released the video clip for “House of Cards” from their latest album “In Rainbows”. The video that used no cameras or lights, only fancy lasers, is just as crazy and trippy as the screenshots suggested. Director James Frost used Geometric informatics and Velodyne lidar technologies for the videoclip, and because this video is pure data instead of images you can manipulate it in real time using a visualizer. Also available on the Google Code site is a video that details just how the clip was made. (Source: Gizmodo)

2. Blendtec: Will It Blend? iPhone 3G

Blendtec founder Tom Dickson shows the power of his product once again. This time the blender is tested on the new iPhone 3G. Previous Apple versus Blendtec episodes include the first iPhone model, the iPod.

3. Converse: My Drive Thru

Converse celebrates it’s 100th anniversary and in all these years the manufacturer of the world famous All Star shoes never lost it’s cool image. To celebrate the anniversary the sneaker company called upon N.E.R.D, Julian Casablancas (lead singer of The Strokes), and Santagold to produce an exclusive single which can be downloaded for free at Converse.com and watched at YouTube. Earlier this month Converse launched a viral campaign via thisistheindexpage.com; click your way through 25 funny, beautiful, strange and weird micro sites.

4. PES: Western Spaghetti

Director and animator Adam Pesapane, aka PES, creates stop-motion videos with every day objects. He won the 2002 Best First Film award at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival for his short “Roof Sex“. His latest film, “Western Spaghetti” receives lots of respect on YouTube and has about 280.000 views and 400 blog postings.

5. JibJab: Time For Some Campaignin’

JibJab, created in 1999 by Gregg and Evan Spiridellis, is famous for it’s political internet videos. This time they released an animation titled “Time for Some Campaignin’”, featuring John McCain, Geaorge Bush, Hillary Clinton, Monica Lewinsky and Barack Obama.

6. Spike Wars: Golf With Darth Vader

Mother NY created four cool little spots for Spike TV letting us know that “There is much to be learned”. Why? Because Spike TV is now the network home for the Star Wars movies. Check spot number 2, spot number 3 and spot number 4.

7. Google: Mobile Tricks

Google Mobile have started a new YouTube channel called Mobile Tricks. They want to know what you can do with your cell phone, and start you off with a guy who’s a bit obsessed with them. They’re asking for all kinds of tricks, from the useful to the completely ridiculous, and they can be with or without Google Mobile products. 8. Häagen-Dazs: Where My Bees At?

When a honey bee returns to the hive after finding a good source of nectar, it will perform a unique dance for its hive mates, detailing the distance, quality and quantity of the new food supply. Sadly, honey bees are mysteriously vanishing in staggering numbers - a crisis known as Colony Collapse disorder - which is alarming considering honey bees are responsible for pollinating one-third of our natural food supply. 9. Eppendorf: It’s Called epMotion

More and more lab equipment companies create viral videos to promote their products. Eppendorf uploaded this catchy tune, which is meant to promote their lab automation equipment. In the film, a dorky boy band tries to woo a female lab technician into using their favorite product, an epMotion system that can handle the meticulous task of pipetting. (Source: Wired)

10. Land Rover: Zara Phillips

Zara Phillips and a horse star in a Land Rover viral to show the brand’s support of this year’s British Eventing team in the run-up to the Olympics. The viral, created by Wunderman and RKCR/Y&R, shows an irritating and talentless footballer mis-kicking the ball in the direction of Phillips, who is leading a horse out of its trailer. He sprays an excessive amount of aftershave over himself and then walks over to Phillips, unaware of who she is, and attempts to flirt with her. The footballer reveals his ignorance by stating that there is no skill in horse riding and that it’s not a real sport like football, at which point the horse sneezes violently coating him in snot.
