CMO’s Get SEO Help From The Poetic Prophet?

Written by Igor Beuker on July 3rd, 2008 | 2 comments

The Poetic Prophet (AKA The SEO Rapper) is back with another marketing rap. This time he raps about Search Engine Optimization (SEO): how web standards and proper design can improve the ranking and conversion of pages on your site.

Actually I feel some bonding with the Poetic Prophet, since I have been singing the social media optimization (SMO) song about a million times to brands and their traditional agencies the last 5 years.

What do you suggest? Should I also make a Social Media rap and play that song whenever I enter another boardroom or conference room? Always wanted to become a rapper but ended up being in social media marketing ;-) Ain’t life a bitch?

Are you into Search, also check the raps: Link Building 101, Paid Search 101 and Social Media Addiction.

Will Google Start Second Life Competitor?

Written by Igor Beuker on July 2nd, 2008 | 6 comments

Almost a year ago rumors were going that Google was planning to launch a 3D social network like Second Life. I have not seen it yet, have you?

The rumor came from students and from Michael Eisenberg, a partner at Benchmark Capital, which is one of the investors in Second Life. He said the rumor is “Google is working on turning Google Earth into a virtual world a la Second Life.”

Also CNN wrote Google would move into 3D virtuals worlds, and would use its Maps and Earth applications to support its virtual world. And Tech Crunch also wrote about Google’s project Redefine your world with Arizona State University.

Unfortunately, I have not found any news that Google has delivered this full UGC 3D virtual world yet. Do you think it’s just speculations or do you have any new clues for our community?
