Last week I bumped into Go!Animate. I liked the site, concept and the fact that people with little animation skills (like me) can finally create and share animations fast.
Go!Animate is an entertainment site built for anobody to be able to create animations, one needs no background in animation or even advanced computer skills. The site community offers options to create, watch, myngle and to participate in contests.
Off course we immediately contacted Go!Animate and interviewed them. To create animations you don’t need to be flash-proficient etc. Advanced computer skills or not, this web site is kind of like elf-yourself in the sense that you can include even your friends in your self-created animations….
Also, goanimate.com has licenses with major networks. Go!Animate recently added Michelle Obama, Cindy McCain, and Sarah Palin to the roster. These democratic and republican party girls will join glass ceiling cracker Hillary Clinton in the political Go!Animate Line-up.
Viral Friday is the weekly viral video chart of ViralBlog, showing the 5 most popular viral videos, commercials or user-generated videos, carefully selected and ranked by popularity, viral impact & spread.
This weeks Viral Friday #1 position goes to Wario Land: Shake It!. Nintendo and YouTube collaborated to promote Nintendo’s latest Wii release “Wario Land: Shake It!”. The runner up spot is for Diesel SFW XXX. Diesel and The Viral Factory collated clips of 80s porn in a humorous new viral to celebrate Diesel’s 30th anniversary. I’m a PC completes this week’s top 3. After the Gates/Seinfeld ads this new Microsoft commercial, by Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, actually does make a point.
Do you want to see this week’s list from 1 to 5? Go on then, and have a look! We’d like to hear your opinion about the virals. Have fun!
There are people out there who are cashing in on the YouTube standard of a viral video. You’ve seen these people because they are always on the front page for most viewed videos. Channels like AtheneWins have proven that the all you need to do is reach a level of Idiocracy in order to attract viewers.
I hope that with these new type of interactive videos, people will start to educate people more through entertainment and sex appeal. My favorite example of this has got to be HotforWords. She has turned a seemingly boring topic – Linguistics and the origin of words – into something fun, sexy, and educational. My company culture is all about productivity made fun, and that is exactly what she is doing.
I want to introduce you to a new kind of YouTube video – riddle videos:
Valsartdiary is making a valiant effort at making learning about art fun and interactive. So far, it looks like she has been a pretty big hit because she combines learning with sex appeal and fun.
YouTube finally seems to have shaken up it’s advertising possibilities. And that’s about time. A few months ago we saw the YouTube annotationInteractive Card Trick that shook up social media communities. Below you can experience a new ’shaken not stirred’ YouTube possibility, brilliantly embraced by Wii Wario Land…
Did you experience YouTube shaking and falling apart? Did you see the great action site of Wii Wario Land? How do you feel about this new YouTube possibility? Intrusive, old wine in new bags (seen it at other portals before) or a smashing new opportunity?
If you want to learn more about how to create annotations at YouTube, see this demo. Or see below demos and examples!

The campaign centred on an ad, which challenged viewers to count the number of passes made by one of two teams of basketball players. However after all the passes had been made, the viewer was challenged as to whether they had noticed something unrelated to the basketball, highlighting how easy it is to miss things when one’s attention is elsewhere.
Altogether Digital, responsible for the seeding & online marketing, was asked to devise an online strategy to reach out to the target audience of people, who might either drive or cycle in the Greater London area.
Below you can find the campaign approach and the results.
One year after his health-care documentary “Sicko” got leaked online weeks before its theatrical premiere, film director Michael Moore is taking the distribution of his latest film in his own hands. It looks to me like Moore has social media marketing skills that many CMO’s should envy…
What many entertainment companies and their media agencies not fully seem to understand, is the viral seeding potential of compelling video content online. Maybe Michael Moore can open up a few eye(balls) by showing how viral distribution ideas that can earn attention for movies? Buying attention is so 2007..
On September 23, the controversial filmmaker will release his new documentary, “Slacker Uprising,” exclusively online as a free download for three weeks at slackeruprising.com.
The unique release is believed to be the first time a major motion picture has made its debut online before receiving any theatrical distribution, DVD release or TV airing.

It is a promotional piece for the launch of Shaggy’s greatest hits album, out recently. This funny viral is created by Japanese Soldiers. See viral video Shaggy Mr. Boombastic…
So far the clip was being watched 3.000 times at YouTube, but we have no idea how the guys at Japanese Soldiers are doing the natural seeding and viral tracking this viral video.
How do you rate the viral video of pop star Shaggy? And yes I’m asking your opinion, we would not like to hear you say: It wasn’t me…
Here’s a new spot from AKQA for the UK’s original ‘Slag of Snacks’ Pot Noodle. It’s about a boy who turns into a sheep after eating too much Pot Noodle.
The clip was put onto VHS and then digitized to give it that original 80s feel. They’ve also hooked up with The Sun newspaper to promote the ad through the domain name 80snews.co.uk. Other stories (as yet not filmed) include a man that lays eggs, Bex the bender and a man from Blackpool who shoots flames out of his arse.
