1. Wario Land: Shake It!
Nintendo and YouTube collaborated to promote Nintendo’s latest Wii release Wario Land: Shake It!. The very unique site got about 1.3 million visits in one week time and blogs like Wired, Kotaku, Joystiq, GameSetMatch and over 800 others wrote about the ad. The idea of trashing a site is not new though, check Hema, Club Internet: Le Duel & Le Défi, Nationale Vacaturebank, The Good Fight, Jumper, Carhartt and Netdisaster.
2. Diesel SFW XXX
Diesel, the Italian design company which was founded by Renzo Rosso and Adriano Goldschmied in 1978, and The Viral Factory collated clips of 80s porn in a humorous new viral to celebrate Diesel’s 30th anniversary. The viral uses animation to block out the rude bits, creating various cartoon interpretations of the actors’ movements. Actors are seen shaking maracas, playing the harmonica, riding horses and eating a banana.
The viral is titled SFW XXX (short for “safe for work”), the opposite of NSFW or “not safe for work” - an acronym used to tag porn online and promotes a series of parties being held to celebrate Diesel’s anniversary. (Source: Brand Republic)
3. I’m a PC
After the Gates/Seinfeld ads this new Microsoft commercial, by Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, actually does make a point. The campaign makes clear not all Windows users are like the ones in the Apple commercials. Microsoft users are diverse and include Vera Wang, Kevin Spacey, Bill Gates (obviously), Tony Parker and Eva Longoria.
4. Bzzzz. MINI Clubman
The new MINI Clubman commercial shows the burial of a fly who met his maker by flying into a MINI Clubman’s radiator. Set and costumes are made by the famous London production designer Marketa Korinkova. The creation of the ad was done by Munich based Webguerillas and Berlin based BIGFISH produced the ad. Don’t forget to check the “Making of“! (Source: Page Online)
5. Citroën C4: Staying Alive
About four years ago RSCG London and Spy Films created the Transformer commercial for the Citroën C4. In 2006 part 2, Citroën C4: Ice Skater, was released. Last month the third part of the commercial, called Citroën C4: Staying Alive, launched. (Source: Creative Match)
