With the start of a new academic year comes the need for many first year students to buy some furniture. For these students, and for everybody else that either lives small or just likes IKEA, the Swedish brand launched the Space Maker website.
Space Maker is (another) smart idea by the Swedish furniture brand that allows you to understand how to exploit at best the small space you have.
If you ever thought that elementary school was about learning to read & do math, you should take a look at this video: ‘ Visual Effects: 100 Years of Inspiration’
Outdoor footwear brand Teva, a division of Deckers Outdoor Corporation, which also holds Simple Shoes and UGG Australia, has released their first “viral video” starring Vice Magazine co-founder Gavin McInnes. The video is the first in a three part episode called The Naturist.
Teva seems pretty convinced regarding the virality of their videos, here’s a quote we found on Mediabistro:
Viral Friday is the weekly viral video chart of ViralBlog, showing the 5 most popular viral videos, commercials, games or user-generated videos, carefully selected and ranked by popularity, viral impact & spread.
This weeks Viral Friday #1 position goes to The X Factor 2009 – Danyl Johnson. The English X Factor keeps being a talent generator. We have seen Susan Boyle, Paul Pots, Connie Talbot and Shaheen Jafargholi. And now there is Danyl Johnson. The runner up spot is for Lego Stop Motion Tribute To The 80’s. Retro is hot and so are stop motion videos. Swedish duo Rymdreglage combines the two in their video ‘8 Bit trip’. Nokia Booklet 3G First Video completes this week’s top 3. Nokia rocked the world this week by introducing a video for a brand new breed of portable devices, called the Booklet 3G.

One of our sister agencies, RKCR/Y&R, recently opened up her doors for local businesses in London borough of Camden. Possibly the first high street ad agency in the world. RKCR/Y&R opened their doors this week at number 22 Chalk Farm Road with the aim of bringing marketing and communications advice to the shop keepers and stall owners of Camden Town.
Today I bumped into a very surreal video on Vimeo. The video features the Scratch Perverts, a collective of turntablist DJs from the UK, formed in 1996 by Tony Vegas, Prime Cuts and DJ Renegade. The Dj´s paid a visit to the Neurosonics Audiomedical Labs Inc. This resulted into one crazy short film, which you should defenitely watch!
The Neurosonics Audiomedical Labs Inc is pretty vague on the meaning of this video. This is for example what their video description mentions:
Retro is hot and so are stop motion videos. Swedish duo Rymdreglage combines the two in their video ‘8 Bit trip’. The video is a tribute to all your favorite games of the 80’s: Tetris, Mario, PacMan and they’re all compiled of Lego!
An amazing stop motion video by Rymdreglage
The music in the video is by Daniel Larsson and the animation was done by Tomas Redigh, the two members of Rumdreglage, who spend 1500 hours in creating this amazing video.
That the internet has made the world transparent and has shifted power to the people is something most brands can’t get used to. I am curious if Apple will neglect or embrace this product improvement by Lee from London? Will his video hit our Viral Friday?
Lee Washington from London is currently studying product design. And he seems to be paying attention. In above video he is presenting an idea to prevent tangling of iPod headphones; when not in use, the two wires join together.
Lee was inspired to develop these headphones after having seen this woman on the train, struggle to untangle her headphones. Lee was very surprised to see his video hit over 123.000 views at YouTube and Vimeo within just 3 days.
Fashion brand Gap is dropping its famous celebrity-filled TV ads in favor of a social media campaign focused on Facebook. Here people can watch the video of Gap’s “fit engineer” explaining the design of the company’s newest line of jeans.
The Gap, once admired for its TV commercials as much as its clothes, is banking on a new line of denim wear to help revive its sagging brand. But don’t expect to hear about it on television.
To freshen up your mind: To participate, entrants were asked to submit an original video focusing on Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, and the game of golf in general. Based upon the videos submitted, a panel of judges has selected up to five finalists, whose videos can be voted on by the public. The contest winner will be selected based upon a combination of judges’ scoring and public voting.
