After a few years of just focussing on gaining as many likes, friends and followers, brands slowly start to realize that real fan engagement is far more important than just showing a big number. IKEA is such a brand that goes beyond ‘the Facebook Like’.

The inspiration for this event was a Facebook group called ‘I wanna have a sleepover in IKEA’, which has almost 100,000 fans. IKEA allowed 100 of these fans the opportunity to spend one night in IKEA.

Facebook will feature its Sponsored Story ads in users’ News Feeds per January 2012. This will greatly increase brand presence in Facebook. Mark and the rest of his gang did not meet their 2011 revenue targets and will have to show new revenues before Facebook’s expected IPO.

Sponsored stories are Facebook’s most buzzed-about ad product and carry the promise of high rates because they have the built-in endorsement of a friend.

In order to show the immense diversity of creative possibilities of the new Samsung Galaxy Note, Spanish street artist Notasso was asked to participate in a new campaign from Samsung, named after the artist himself, Who is Notasso.

One of the tools Notasso frequently works with to express his creativity is the Galaxy Note. This resulted in a application in which he can create a personalized work of art work based on your Facebook photo’s.

Last Thursday Samsung Mobile launched their new Facebook campaign in The Netherlands to promote the much talked about Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Taking part in the competition can be really rewarding, since Samsung Mobile is giving away a Galaxy Tab 10.1 every day, for 20 days in a row.

One of the scariest things about starting a branded Facebook page is the content a brand is going to distribute. Brands always worry about what to post on their Facebook wall. Especially since they are scared of the negative reactions of their customers. But what are successful Facebook posts?

A great example of Facebook integration from Ushuaïa Beach Hotel in Ibiza. They placed numerous RFID points, with which party people can auto-post photos in real-time to Facebook, by swiping their RFID wristband. Take a look…
Hopefully RFID integration with social API’s will become more mainstream, so consumers could be experiencing similar engaging initiatives at other entertainment spaces around the world.
But Ibiza seems to be leading by example in several marketing occasions…

Today CNBC annouched that Facebook will launch their own music service. CNBC claims to have close relations with Facebook and that Facebook will launch this service on the 22nd of September during Facebook’s developers F8 conference in San Fransisco.

CNBC will not host the music themselves. For this they will use one of the currently available music services. Mashable suggests that Spotify, Mog and Rdio are in the race. Earlier this year Mashable compared the six most used music services.
