After “Viral SuperStar” by Current.TV and Dan Meth’s great animated tribute to 66 Internet People, Cakke Team created another “internet meme” video called “The Internet Stars are Viral”, to pay homage to … all the viral internet super stars out there. TechnoViking, Miss Teen South Carolina, Chris Crocker, Borat, John West and many many others are starring in this homage clip. (via Colmeia.tv)
Virgin is famous for it’s guts in marketing, guerrilla, buzz and viral campaigns. It’s fair to say that Virgin is a Viral Veteran. Their current concept of creating compelling viral commercials is putting in hip hop superstars into their productions. Rappers like Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes.
To promote it’s bundles calls and text messages Virgin Mobile launched a great webisode website Missy Elliott. But also Busta Rhymes But Naked virals are revolutionary virals.
One of my old time favorite viral concepts is Trojan Games Bucharest 2003 spoof Olympics. A series of really great viral commercials, a micro website and a smart viral architecture, make Trojan Condoms viral heroes.
You hardly see viral concepts so well thought through. And with viral guts comes viral glory. Check Power Lifting, Judo and Vault.
For inspiration just another old skool viral commercial. This Red Salmon viral commercial by John West reached millions of internet users.
In the first stage of the commercial the scenes might look very realiastic. This keeps you glued to te screen. But soon the viewer is caught by the joke.
And most viewers became willing to share John West immediately with their peers. And if people start sharing massively, internet commercials become viral commercials. How do you rate this John West?
