Diesel Connects Shop Environment To Facebook
Diesel created an interactive installation in a Diesel Store in Spain, allowing users to share the moment of buying with their Facebook friends while being in the offline store. With the installation, consumers are able to make pictures and publish them directly on to their very own Facebook account, using Facebook Connect in the store to log in safely.
I think its a nice twist to bring the offline world a bit closer to the online world and to serve the consumers who don’t have smartphones and share their recently bought items online anyway. What do you think of this installation?

It would be better to have it in the changing room (with a curtain over the camera for those that might be paranoid it could take a pic whilst getting changed!) – then you cld see what your friends think of the clothes you’re trying on through the number of ‘Likes’ and get more specific feedback thru comments.

…and then I watch the video… had glossed over it thinking it was a pic. Doh! *blush*
what’s the difference between uploading it from your iPhone to using the Desiel connect box? I think it’s the same.. I dunno how many people would be bothered to do that.
Ever tried taking a picture of yourself on iPhone? It’s hard enough normally, let alone in a changing room
But since having seen the video – it does appear to be a little cumbersome to complete the select/edit/login/upload task… knowing what girls changing room queues are like without this feature, I’d dread to think what the queue time would be with it!
What Jen above says. Plus as a marketeer we often asume to much that all youngster walk around with smartphones, which isn’t always the case…
And by combining it with something as unique as Diesel does, I think the rate of participants increase, if even it is to just try it out.
