Bra Scrap Scheme Boost To Lingerie Sales?
For lingerie and bra’s we often see compelling ads. Sex still sells and Wonderba has treated us with some clever ones. Today we noticed a witty guerrilla campaign from the small Amsterdam based, fashion and lingerie boutique Je m’ Appelle Nikki: The Bra Scrap Scheme – Get € 7,50 back for your old bra.

Interested I read along and saw this statement by the store owner: “The car scrap scheme was invented to help the car industry through this recession. But this recession is not only harming the car sector, it is painful to the beautiful world of fashion and lingerie as well. So who ever said that the fashion and lingerie industries do not need any help too?”
Next the owner told: “Our bra scrap scheme has just been launched as a witty clone of the car scrap scheme. In our bra scrap scheme customers can collect a € 7,50 discount on their old bra, when buying a new one.
We hope to earn attention with this bra scrap campaign and to boost our sales. Off course we will give the old bra’s to a good cause.”
The PR Kit we got, looked pretty socially skilled. The boutique even has a Twitter account and an okay website.

Would the boutique use the collected bra’s for a Bra Invasion alike campaign? Or would there be some other good cause to send the recycled bra’s to?

German underwear manufacturer Bruno Banani did something like this in july giving 5,- € discount when returning your old undies. Car scrap is called “Abwrackprämie” in Germany.
