Huggies TweetPee: Cool Gadget For Geeky Parents?

Huggies Brazil is helping geeky parents with a cool gadget: TweetPee, a sensor and Twitter-based alert that reminds parents to change baby’s diapers.

Huggies TweetPee: Cool Gadget For Geeky Parents?

Technology is enabling us to do more good?

Well, some brands are definitely ready to help, not hype.

Huggies TweetPee: a Sensor & Twitter alert?

TweePee sensor is attached to the baby’s diaper. When the sensor perceives an increase of humidity, it sends a tweet out to the parent’s Twitter account to let them know their baby needs their attention.

See the sensor here:

Big-data and Mobile Diaper Commerce?

Now even smarter is that the tweet is also connected to a mobile app that keeps track of number of diapers used. This enables the parents to order new diapers, way before they are all wet. Always on, or should I call it: “always in stock”?

Huggies TweePee: Big-data and Mobile Diaper Commerce?

So what might seem like a geeky gadget to the linear minds, might look like big-data driven mobile commerce to the non-linear minds among you?

My Opinion?
Very clever helping by Huggies and Ogilvy Brazil. Almost Nike Running alike.

Is it big-data or just small data? I don’t know, but does that really matter? I like TweetPee because it is a clever and relevant way for parents that need it.

It’s spot on innovative digital branding by Huggies, earning them global attention and buzz. And probably a lot of kudos from influencers within the marketing and tech industry.

Luckily Twitter is a clever little blue bird, not the yellow Big Bird from Sesame Street.

How would that big beast fit a diaper?!
