Some Great New iPhone App Releases

We’ve mentioned it before, iPhone apps are being developed and launched almost every day. And some of them really seem to stand out. In Canada, Air Canada released a free iPhone application that allows you to check in, be notified of changes, look up flight statuses, and even rent cars from your iPhone device. After online booking, e-ticketing and getting your boarding pass online, another nice feature to help you to make your trip even easier.

If you travel a lot and maybe by Air Canada in particular, this mobile app can be quite helpful to pass the busy lines at the airports if you want to check in or rent a car and might very well be used for valet parking at airports, but most important: to be on time. Another nice example would be WorldMate Live when it comes to itineraries, and they are for free as well, so there is no harm by checking them out.

Mobile check-in is great and makes our life a lot easier, no more struggles to get in line or wrestle with the tough crowds whom all seem to be in hurry, just when you simply do not have the time to wait. Airports and airlines are starting to become smarter when it comes to mobile applications. If you’re about to visit the iTunes to download the Air Canada application, but you don’t have an iPhone and ilooking for something else other than an iPhone, they’ve got a web signal icon for BlackBerry, 2D boarding passes, a mobile site and much more.

Next to airlines and airports, supermarkets seem to discover your mobile phone as a handy device to use doing your groceries, save you time and can be helpful as a reminder tool. This fall, a new iPhone app will be released in The Netherlands, coming from Albert Heijn, one of the biggest super market chains in The Netherlands. Albert Heijn is part of Ahold and has super market chains in Spain, the United States and until recently in Asia.

They are developing an iPhone app where you can download your grocery reminder and recepies. Based on the number of people you’re having for diner, this device will help you to buy just what you need. Smart thinking and again, a very nice way to be able to implement marketing strategies on your (i)phone. Think of all the options you have with these kind of tools…
