Toilet Talk: Cell Phone Usage In Restrooms
As it is easy going Saturday, we decided to have a look at something not that serious, but also a habit some of us have: use a cell phone while in a restroom.
We’ve all been there, you’ve eaten a bit too much of your grandmother’s famous southern fried chicken salad and find yourself trapped between the confines of a public place and the forces of nature.
As you rest upon the pearl throne of solitude, you find may feel uneasy and unsure about the sanitary conditions which you’ve been forced into. For these situations, it’s best to keep your mind elsewhere. Luckily, you’ve brought your smartphone with you – the ultimate in toilet time distractions!
Toilet talkers have invaded every stall in America, bringing their private conversations to the most private moments in strangers’ lives. While not everyone is keen to use the restroom while a stranger two feet away chats about marital issues, it seems that no one has a choice.
Find out which mobile phone brand owner is most likely to call you while they’re on the porcelain thrown, and who likes to send work emails from the restroom. Will it be an Android phone or Blackberry phone user? Or another popular phone brand? The next time you head to the bathroom consider taking this infographic with you for some light toilet reading, and become one of 75% of Americans who have already done it!
Do you use your cell phone while there? What do you do – play games, read email or news…or update Facebook status?

Thanks Emily, love your “piece”.
I would be happy if people would stick their use of cellphones to restrooms.
Some can be extremely loud and close using their cellphones in restaurants, which can be really annoying sometimes. why don’t you switch to whatsapp my friend, you more frequently hear nowadays..
So the restroom could be a great place for loud conversations during a night out.
If I do it in the restroom, I use Zite and rewteet cool stuff. Or I try to make a play in one of my Wordfeud games
Cheers
“19% of people have dropped their phones in the toilet.”
Are you kidding me? How is it that you just happen to drop a $500 cellphone to the toilet?
Clumsy wet hands? Trying to reach for an extra roll of TP?
There are many reasons…

Marcus,
You are a jerk. Really it could happen to anyone. I am sorry that nobody want to be your facebook friend. However, my social life is so vibrant that I can not take any time off
My brother dropped his Blackberry in a bucket of paint once. Accidents do happen!
Have taken a phone to the toilet whilst I take a giant you know what.
But I prefer a tablet because I love to read. And the way I see it, it’s all about the math.
If I spend 7 minutes a day on the toilet per day taking a you know what, that is 42 hours a YEAR people. Multiply this by the average life expectancy then this is roughly 3.5 months during your life.
So I would rather read most of them.
This is very interesting infographic. Currently, the mobile phones is living to this adage We follow wherever you go (Even in toilet). The statistics are really surprising & I don’t want to be part of this….:)
