Blaupunkt: Pimp My Ride Viral Commercial

Do you remember when Blaupunkt was one of the leading car audio brands? 19 years ago I got my drivers license and bought a very old VW Golf (1200 Euros) with a Blaupunkt car stereo in it. It’s like the Blaupunkt brand had vanished last ten years? You’ve noticed?

But with a new strategy and a new approach Blaupunkt seems on it’s way back. Blaupunkt is targeting screenagers and revitalizing it’s brand by sponsoring MTV’s Pimp My Ride. 2 Years ago Blaupunkt launched it’s viral commercial Pimp My Ride. It became a great success and Blaupunkt broadcasted this commercial at MTV TV Stations in several countries.

I think this is one of the smartest, cheapest and best viral commercials I have seen in years. Again proving that cheap but very compelling viral internet commercials can easily become weapons of mass affection and spice up dusty brands. I you have seen the commercial, show us your thoughts!
