IKEA Space Maker

With the start of a new academic year comes the need for many first year students to buy some furniture. For these students, and for everybody else that either lives small or just likes IKEA, the Swedish brand launched the Space Maker website.

Space Maker is (another) smart idea by the Swedish furniture brand that allows you to understand how to exploit at best the small space you have.

Just as their furniture the Space Maker tool is quite easy to use. Either start from scratch or choose a pre-decorated room and start fitting the furniture in the room. They even made a ‘How it Works’ video to show exactly that.

Although IKEA made room planners before (like this one in the Netherlands, and this one especially for Barack Obama) they manage to make them fun to play with (I can’t resist playing with them for a while).

When you’re done planning your room you can print your wish list and take it to an IKEA store near you. And although I like these ‘little’ room planning sites, how about taking the next step? How about letting me share my freshly designed and planned room and ask my friends on Facebook for suggestions? Or let them join me in creating a room just like in the Ford Mustang customizer tool?
