Key Take-Outs or Stats to Tweet

We all might have a different POV when it comes to deriving actionable insights. Nevertheless a find that I embraced as useful.

84% of people subscribed to an e-mail to receive discount in 2013.
64% marketers believe e-mail ROI will grow against 63% who think the same for social.
58% favored forward to a friend as an easy option for integrating social with e-mail.
Out of the top level executives, 90% prefer e-mail, 64% Linkedin and 55% Facebook.
75% of internet users over age 45 prefer e-mail, 60% of those under 30 prefer Facebook.

My Opinion

Well I hate marketing. And I love marketing.

The old marketing model is collapsing. Internet offers an unstructured new one. I see paralyzed marketers. Especially the ones with a disobedience for technology.

I see that consumers have never been more connected, but it’s never been harder to connect with them. Yes I do agree. It’s all so chaotic.

So far the part of marketing I hate. Indeed. The massive lack of non-linear thinking and the ongoing avoidance of internet integration, that side of marketing makes me sick.

So advertizers; sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken!

The part I love is loyalty programs, smart recommendation platforms (Amazon) and collaborative platforms (Nike+), e-mail marketing and CRM.

Smart brand marketing is about pulling customers slowly through the funnel, towards trial, loyalty and advocacy.

In a few words, focus on your Net Promoter Score. Are your customers willing to recommed your brand or products to their peers.

E-mail marketing is a 10x better investement than paid-for Facebook likes. I guess you know that talking to your ‘own’ Facebook fans will costs you lots of money at every shot? Check Facebook EdgeRank and find out that you have ‘fans on lease’.

Trust me, I’ve been stratgic planner for the largest brands on this planet. The ones with yearly ad budgets of $1 billion plus.
