Sony Twilight Football Event
Sony is celebrating the power of its low light photography technology by hosting a unique event, Twilight Football. This event, unlike anything ever staged before, is all about digital technology to capture drama, movement and detail in even the lowest natural light.
The event will kick off on 22 September 2009 and 7 football matches will take place in 7 stunning world locations: Italy, France, the UK, Spain, Argentina and Australia, with the Twilight Football grand final happening in South Africa, the host for the 2010 World Cup.
I think we missed the start of this Sony campaign as it seems already decided who won the competition, judging from the Twilight Football Tweets. And that is a shame because it seems Sony created some nice social assets for this campaign; a good looking website (though lacking information…), a Twitter account (with regular updates and a good amount of followers), a YouTube account and a Flickr account.
Sony also created this widget to keep you updated on the latest entries in the photo competition:
I hope Sony will make nice “twilight” footage of the football games and spread it round the internet. I’m sure the games will make some pretty good pictures. For this campaign I wish I would have seen more. But all is not lost, the video is live for only two days now, so we might see it in the Viral Friday top 5…
