At Fame festival, artists come together throughout the summer to do their thing and turn the little town of Grottaglie Italy in a street art scene. For this year’s edition, BLU and David Ellis, both acclaimed in animated street art, teamed up and created an amazing animation: COMBO

COMBO a collaborative animation by Blu and David Ellis (2 times loop) from blu on Vimeo.

According to Fame festival’s official website, BLU and David Ellis ‘have been working like crazy on this animation for a full week against mosquito’s, rain, bored assistants.’

But the hard work paid off: their art is already referred to as the festival’s masterpiece. Furthermore, the time lapse video was uploaded two weeks ago to video portals amongst which, Vimeo & YouTube and already generated over 459.000 views.

‘COMBO’ is not BLU’s first YouTube hit. Last year , his wall-painted animation video MUTO got over 5 million views. Also, the artist has it is own Facebook page with well over 3.900 fans. Although, the artist himself is not that active on its own page, his fans all the more. And it seems that social media is bringing artists new ways to expose their work and reach a broad range of new fans. Or at least one: me!
