Frito Lay Dips – Online Video Advertising

The rise of online video advertising seems unstoppable with increasing volumes, budgets and also more and more creativity. There have been examples on YouTube. However, other video portals have not been sitting still. Frito Lay Dips is using Vimeo to set a new standard in online video advertising.

Frito Lay, owner of Tostitos Tortilla Chips and Dips, has set the bar for online video advertising for Tostitos Dips on Vimeo (link).

Although the principle of taking over a page is not new (we’ve seen examples where sites were “trashed”, check Hema, Club Internet: Le Duel & Le Défi, Nationale Vacaturebank, The Good Fight, and Carhartt) it will be very interesting to see if this will positively affect perception on Vimeo as a online video advertising partner.
