YouTube Play: Your Video At The Guggenheim

YouTube, HP, Intel and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation teamed up and aim to bring the very best YouTube videos from the on-line world to the off-line world. The project is called YouTube Play.

Everyone can enter the ‘competition’ and submit one video until July 31. This can be done on the dedicated YouTube section youtube.com/play.

The Guggenheim about Play: “In the last two decades, there has been a paradigm shift in visual culture. The moving image has been fully absorbed into critical contemporary-art practices, and now we are witnessing the power of the Internet to catalyze and disseminate new forms of digital media, including online video.”

The trailer video for the Play project, made by Johnny Kelly, may be even featured in our Viral Friday chart with almost 700,000 views in 12 days.

Want to know more about Play? Don’t read it anywhere but watch this ‘about’ video instead!

We greatly encourage this initiative and hope the Guggenheim is paving the path for other established foundations to embrace on-line activities.
