First Unauthorized Apple Store Wedding

And then it happened, two dedicated Apple fans got married in an Apple Store in New York on Valentine’s Day.

Josh and Ting Li are self-described ‘obsessive’ Apple fans and are the first to marry inside an Apple Store.

The couple actually met at the same store while shopping for an iPod. Josh says. “We got to know each other because Ting was looking to buy an iPod…and I managed to strike up a conversation that way.” And a romance started for the two iLovebirds. “I used to joke that the Apple Store is my church because I am not religious, and I loved everything Apple,” Josh adds. “Ting then came up with the idea of having the wedding there.”

It was a true Apple wedding with the couple reading their vows from their iPhones, the priest dressed as Steve Jobs and the wedding rings were tied to a ribbon wrapped around the first generation iPod.

The following passage read out from the pretend Apple CEO: “You have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down.” was included in the vows.

I don’t know about this wedding in an Apple store, with Apple gadgets surrounding the ceremony… this is maybe to take it a bit too far. For me a wedding is to celebrate the love of two people and not to celebrate Apple products!! What do you think about getting married in an chain store like Apple? The video generated more then 130,000 within a week.

  • Wow. How cool is that for a brand? I bet Apple will not find more loyal fans of their products; these are to keep! Time for Apple to create a special section in the shop and call it the iChurch?

  • ahahah iChurch, good one! iDivorces might be just the next step of it! Ahahah.

Honestly i think it’s a great viral, but i doubt Apple will go for such a path. I’m worrying that one day apple will be iEverything and lose the sense of ‘fashion’ that always made it better compared to microsoft. But hey, you never know.
