Shakira’s Waka Waka Hits 100 Million Views?

Yes, I do understand it. And it could have been me alone. Since I could watch Shakira’s video over and over again and still enjoy her smile. And Shakira seems to have more fans online, since her World Cup song Waka Waka was watched over 100 million times online in just 5 weeks…

The YouTube counter has put this song now at 94,711,657 views since 4 June 2010. If you add up all the other video portals, Shakira has smashed the 100 million views with great pride.

If you add up all the buzz and earned media, Shakira has contributed for another $ 10 million. She’s not only a walking hit machine- she’s also a dancing buzz builder.

Why would this clip be so extyremely viral? Can TV turn online content, trailers and clips into virals?
