If you want to target men, understanding the purchasing behaviour of the male audience is critical when it comes to marketing your products or services.

According to Entrepreneur.com, there are a number of misconceptions regarding how and why different types of men shop, and what they’re shopping for. And I must say, after reading their latest Infographic with 10 useful statistics, to understand the purchase behaviour of men, I totally agree.

Men from age 25 to 40 years old are influenced by both search engines and social media when it comes to searching and researching products. So a smart mix of search and social (content) marketing is a wise strategy to apply. When it comes to mobile, 68% of male smartphone owners are likely to make purchases thanks to mobile ads. And finally, when they’re satisfied with the purchase, 44% tell friends about their positive experiences.

My opinion?
These are interesting insights, the male audience is a difficult audience, but can be influenced if you can reach them in the right way. Ignore these insights? Say goodbye to your audience! Funny to see though that 43% of affluent men think of shopping as a relaxing, enjoyable activity, who would have thought?!
