The State of LinkedIn
Vincenzo Cosenza, has created another great infographic, this time for LinkedIn. LinkedIn, the most popular professional social network launched exactly 7 years ago, has updated its advertising tool to allow individuals/companies to buy “Direct Ads”. This simple tool is also a rich source of information about registered users.
LinkedIn has almost 69 million members in over 200 countries (the tool shows info only about 20 of them). U.S.A., India and U.K are the countries with more users. The Netherlands has the highest adoption rate per capita outside the US at 30%.
Unsurprising men outnumber women and 51% of users are between 25 and 34 years old. The most represented industries are hi-tech (16%), finance (12%) and manufacturing (10%), while engineering (15%), sales (11%), administrative (9%) are the most common job functions.

Wow. 69 million. And soo much more useful in a B2B environment than Facebook.
Wow! It appears no one in australia uses LinkedIn. That’s strange, because I have an account and I live there.
I must be the only person in Australia using it…
This graph is highly inaccurate seeing that Australia is not represented at all. Why? I know I’m there along with thousands of others.
The statistic for Australia definitely seems askew. I have many connections that are Australian based.

The U.S. said Beijing was heeding those complaints.
Yay! Go Australia. Oh, wait. Maybe no’one uses LinkedIn here?
Nope .. searching for ‘Australia’ in LinkedIn gives over 325,000 results.
You can see why people ‘love’ Infographics …
Wow! I know I joined LI in 2003, so I guess I am a social media pioneer!
What I’d note, though, is that the statistics probably include a fair number of accounts that were opened solely for outbound marketing purposes. There’s a large and growing amount of spam in LinkedIn Groups, for instance, clearly generated on a piece-work basis (because the ID is the same and the post is cut/paste to multiple Groups). Further, there is an enormous number of “open networkers” whose purpose seems to be to gather your detailed information for later spam campaigns.
Of course, it’s difficult to remove such from the data set. However, note that Twitter stats generally discuss active users. Something similar for LinkedIn, perhaps based on logging in rather than registration, would be helpful!

Even if you have been living in a cave, you would have heard of Michael Jordan. Jordan is one of the most popular basketball player in the NBA. The NBA is a professional basketball competition that is watched by millions of people all over the world. To understand why Air Jordan shoes have such a huge impact on fans, you have to first understand a little about Michael Jordan.
Jordan plays the position of the shooting guard. Usually, he has 3 numbers that he wears on his jersey during competitions – 23, 45 and 9. The most well known number is, of course, number 23. So if you see anyone walking down the street with a number 23 at the back, that’s a Jordan fan.
Many fans around the world started to wear Air Jordan shoes in basketball games. As a lot of research had gone into the shoes, the pricing was expensive when the shoes came into the market. However, with widespread adoption of the shoes and improved technologies, the pricing has come down a lot in recent years. Today, you can purchase a pair of retro Air Jordan shoes for less than a hundred USD. Here website you can find them.( http://www.best-clothing-shoes.com)
