Update: Evolution Of Dance
One of the most watched viral videos out there is Evolution Of Dance; all sort of dances shown by entertainer/ performer Judson Laipply. In January 2009 Judson announced he launched Evolution Of Dance 2. At ViralBlog we knew this would be a big hit again, but we were curious if part Deux could match the original version.
As you might know Evolution Of Dance has reached over 130 million views on YouTube since 2006, but what has part 2 done since it launched earlier this year?
On 9 January 2009 Judson Laipply launched Evolution Of Dance 2. From that moment on we started tracking this movie with ViralTracker. Knowing the video would be a viral success we made sure the videos from multiple video portals were tracked as well.
Below you can see some screenshots from the results of Evolution Of Dance (EOD1) and Evolution Of Dance 2 (EOD2) over 2009.
The chart above shows numbers of views, comments and rate of both Evolution Of Dance and Evolution of Dance 2. As you can see on the right EOD1 takes the biggest part of the pie when it comes to performance. It outscores EOD2.
This year the videos have created over 31 million views and still manages to get 50k daily views.
In the next chart you see the difference in performance of videos. Evolution of Dance part 1 never goes below 30.000 views on a daily basis.
As you can clearly see Evolution Of Dance part 1 is clearly a better performing movie and although part 2 still manages to get around 10k views on a daily basis, it does not compare to the results from the first dance.
