Viral on Veoh: The Smart Show
Just discovered “Viral on Veoh“. The California-based company goes behind the scenes of internet television. In the episode you’re about to see, Veoh goed behind the webseries of The Smart Show, the first cross-country daily webshow driven by Holiday Inn Express and hosted by America Online and HBO’s “This just In” comedy site.
The Smart Show is a two-month road trip from Boston to LA, in search of all things smart (Note: Holiday Inn Express’s tagline is “Stay Smart”). And by “smart” they mean the clever, witty, innovative and unexpected. They do something that is unheard of in traditional media, allowing viewers to call the shots! The show hosts solicit story ideas and road trip stops from their online audience adding a level of spontaneity and room for humorous mishaps along the way. Even the co-host of the show Joan was chosen by the viewers. A great, smart and bold move by Holiday Inn!
Also check out the episode with viral superstar Sammy Stephens, the (smart) local businessman who drew 4 million viewers on YouTube and other sites with his own produced commercial “Flea Market Montgomery“.
Another webshow that is about to launch is Mahalo’s Daily with Veronica Belmont and Jason Calacanis. Watch the first episode, that promptly parodies several internet video memes!!
