Viral: Splash Out! The Next Gangnam Style?

21 million views on YouTube in a little over 3 weeks: Splash Out, the viral hit single from Thai artists Kamikaze and Baitoey RSiam, is making its way around the world.

Of course, there is no way we can know for sure if it’ll be as big a hit as Gangnam Style.

However, the views are piling up, and the cover videos are countless. Curious? Take a look at the video:

Thunyawat Chaitrakulchai, a supposed Thai marketing guru, said:

The fact that the dance moves focus on women moving their upper, rather than lower, bodies is one of the main reasons that the music video has become such a big hit. If Thai artists want a global hit in the digital age they have to make music like K-pop Psy’s Gangnam Style. In Gangnam Style, we don’t know what Psy is singing about. But the beat is exciting, the music video is fun to watch and the dancing is easy. If you don’t have good looks, then you dance funny.

And yes, the cover videos of people ‘dancing funny’ are piling up too:

My Opinion
Naturally we can’t say for sure whether this video will be as much as a viral hit as Gangnam Style.

However, the views are increasing, the tunes and song are catchy, the dance moves are hilarious: recipe for a viral hit?

So even if this song doesn’t make it as big as GS, it’s still a killer of a summer single!

What About You?
Do you like the song? Do you think it will get even bigger around the world? Tell us please!
