Facebook Friends Drive Barcelona’s Puyol Mad?
More and more, people are leaving major life decisions up to the masses on Facebook. From naming babies to their career moves, people everywhere are surrendering their free will to the passing desires of the Facebook friends. Carles Puyol, the beast and captain of FC Barcelona seems to be a voluntary victim…
As reported by Sport.es, the 32-year-old Spanish international is the subject of a Facebook group that claims he told a friend that if the group reaches 250,000 fans, he will play until he’s 40!!
And if it doesn’t reach 250,000 fans? Well, I guess he’ll leave his retirement age up to something silly like “when he feels like it.”
The Facebook group– appropriately named Carles Puyol: “If this gets 250,000 I will retire at 40”- was created on 14 July 2010 and currently has over 140,000 fans.
So probably, we will see the beast the next coming 8 years on the international football fields?
I do hope all Spanish internationals will follow Puyol’s example. So our Dutch National Football team might win the FIFA World Cup 2018. We might be able to beat an old Spanish team (average age of 40 yrs) in the final with 4-0…?!
