Viral Friday: Bizkit The Sleep Walking Dog
Viral Friday is the weekly viral video chart of ViralBlog, showing the 5 most popular viral videos, commercials, games or user-generated videos, carefully selected and ranked by popularity, viral impact & spread.
This weeks Viral Friday #1 position goes to Bizkit The Sleep Walking Dog. Bizkit, the dog, suffers from a disorder where she engages in activities that are normally associated with wakefulness while she is asleep; sleepwalking! The runner up spot is for Samsung with Extreme Sheep LED Art. After last week’s SSD Awesomeness Samsung now focuses on their LED TV department. They took to the hills of Wales armed to the teeth with sheep, LEDs and a camera. Forrest Gump In One Minute completes this week’s top 3. Students from the University of York filmmaking society obviously thought Forrest Gump is a great movie but took too long, so they did a remake.
Do you want to see this week’s list from 1 to 5? Go on then, and have a look! We’d like to hear your opinion about the virals. Have fun!
1. Bizkit The Sleep Walking Dog
Sleepwalking, a sleep disorder where the sufferer engages in activities that are normally associated with wakefulness while he or she is asleep or in a sleep-like state. And the disorder is not limited to humans only! Bizkit, the dog, suffers from it as well. “MarinaHD2001“, Bizkit’s owner I assume, uploaded some videos of the sleepwalking dog. Two of the videos have well over 1 million views, but the above has over 6.5 million since February 10th! Some may find it a bit harsh, others have a good laugh about it.
2. Extreme Sheep LED Art
Two days ago Matthijs already wrote about this, jet another, Samsung viral. The video, by The Viral Factory, aims to promote Samsung’s new LED TV range. This video is definitely viral with over 1 million views in 4 days. We’ve seen sheepvertising before in the Netherlands, this LED one is way cooler though.
3. Forrest Gump In One Minute
Forrest Gump is a great movie, but not if you’re in a hurry. Students from the University of York filmmaking society thought they could tell the story in a more efficient way. The video was uploaded to YouTube almost a month ago and has over 1.2 million views, got favorited almost 12.000 times, over 3.700 comments and 77 responses. Not bad filmmaking students! See all credits for the film on YouTube.
4. Eva Jinek: Boobies!
So here we have the perfect example of what uploading a seemingly harmless video to YouTube can do. On March 2nd Dutch news anchor Eva Jinek was getting ready for a live broadcast and asked some help about whether to open or close another button of her shirt and how that would effect the view on her breasts. It happens. It made it to national television in Holland and the video got around 1 million views. Eva doesn’t mind all the commotion though, “That’s just who I am” she said.
5. Axe The Fixers Anthem
The Fixer Show, Axe’s latest campaign website, based on a talk show which promises to fix everything in your life with a funny presenter and hot Brazilian girls. The video that comes with it is made by Mekanism. Music in the video is “Day and Night” by Kid Cudi. The Fixers also have a YouTube channel in which not only the above edited video can be found, but also the uncut version.
