ViralFriday

This week’s Viral Friday #1 position goes to Cebu Pacific Airlines Dancing Flight Attendants. These ladies are making sure that you are enjoying (or at least paying attention to) the flight safety instructions! The runner up spot is for Glentoran 1-0 Portadown Burrows Goal. This goal is pretty groovy! And no one saw it coming. El Guincho – Bombay completes this week’s top 3. This Spanish video shows some skin! But hey, it’s Friday right?

Do you want to see this week’s list from 1 to 5? Go on then, and have a look! We’d like to hear your opinion about the virals. Have fun!

Get our ViralBlog asset: the Viral Friday Widget! By default the widget shows you the latest Viral Friday, but it’ll also show you the seven most recent postings on ViralBlog.

1. Cebu Pacific Airlines Dancing Flight Attendants

Do you belong to that group of people that hardly pay attention to the in-flight safety demonstration? Well, try to use Cebu Pacific Airlines and you will not be able to miss the safety instructions. Flight attendants on the Philippines-based airline did a session of what is planned as a regular feature on all Cebu Pacific flights: the attendants dancing the Lady Gaga super-hit ‘Just Dance’ to get passengers interested in the safety demonstration. Innovative or provocative? Many love it, others found it “unprofessional”. But the fact is that until now this combination of fun and safety has generated almost 1 million views on YouTube.

2. Glentoran 1-0 Portadown Burrows Goal

Goals like these are what even the best football players in the world dream about. You won’t see goals like these every day and certainly not at the level of the Northern Ireland football league. The goal was made in the 92nd minute in a match that would have turned out to a 0-0. Until Mattie Burrows of Glentoran surprised the opponent goalkeeper with a wonderful heel shot. You can find more goals (but less pretty ones unfortunately) on the Glentoran YouTube channel. The video reached almost 2 million views on Youtube in two days time.

3. El Guincho – Bombay

This cult music video is the result of the all Spanish collaboration between the musician Pablo Diaz-Reixa, better known as El Guincho, and cinematographer Marc Gomez del Moral. El Guincho describes his sound as a kind of “space-age exotica” which he achieves by sampling and incorporating elements of Afrobeat, Dub, Tropicália and Rock ‘n Roll. And the work of cinematographer Marc Gomez del Moral is, well, artistically-minded to say at least. The video is almost 2 weeks live and already has over 700 thousand views.

4. Homeless Man Under Pressure

Although it is hard to link Kermit (the only frog with a roof over his head) to homeless people, this video is a hit and Viral Friday worthy.
Luckily the song “Under Pressure” by Bowie and Queen is spot on, it accurately describes a situation affecting more people than you know. The performer, who isn’t actually homeless, tries to create awareness for this problem. The video links to a website where you can read how you can help homeless people without donating money. The video is doing very well and already has over 650.000 views in 5 days. We say spread the word and help the homeless!

5. Longboard Girls Crew

This video makes you long back to summer! A bunch of girls with longboards rocking the streets of Madrid. The pictures of this sunny morning are also shown on the Longboard Girls Crew Facebook page. This is a place where girls fromm all over the world who love longboarding exchange pictures and other stuff. The video has been viewed over 108.000 times in the last two weeks.
