1. Dancing Inmates – Michael Jackson’s This Is It
Maybe you remember the viral with the Filipino inmates performing Michael Jackson’s Thriller in 2007? Now the inmates of Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center are back with a new routine from This Is It. This time the inmates received a visit from Michael Jackson’s choreographer Travis Payne and dancers Daniel Celebre and Dres Reid, all to promote the DVD release of Michael Jackson’s This Is It. The video generated more than 2 million views in a week.
2. Apple iPad Spoofs
The iPad. Many have been looking forward to Apple’s tablet and not surprisingly the iPad already has been spoofed a lot as you can read in Marc’s post. One of these spoofs is, almost obvioulsy, Hitler’s reaction to the iPad. All high expectations on how the iPad would be a true revolution set high expectations. In this latest Der Untergang parody he finds out the iPad is not what he expected it to be. In two days the video got over 600,000 views which makes it a true viral video.
3. Walmart Clown Commercial
At the Sunday night NFL championship game, Walmart aired the “Clown Commercial”. The commercial shows dad dressing up as a clown to surprise the kids. And a surprise they got. That same Sunday, the commercial was uploaded to YouTube and got over 800,000 views already, as well as over 2,500 tweets and retweets. See for yourself: funny or just plain painful?
4. Misa Digital Guitar Demo
A new gadget has arrived that will make guitar playing look easy and cool without getting the blisters on your fingers. And no, it’s not a new Guitar Hero, it’s the Misa Digital Guitar. In the video an unidentified person is playing the guitar, which admittedly sounds pretty nice. Michael, the inventor, explains on his website what the beauty is of a digital guitar, what it’s made of and how it works. Some blogs have already written about it, but no one seems to know the price. The video generated 988,270 views in almost 2 weeks.
5. Shaun White: Double McTwist 1260
American professional snow- and skateboarder Shaun White, sponsored by Burton, is preparing for the 2010 Winter Olympics where he’s the favorite to win the halfpipe competition. To stay ahead of his rival Danny Davis White mastered a new trick. The Double McTwist 1260 crams three horizontal rotations inside two vertical flips while grabbing and Shaun shows it in this practice run clip. The video, uploaded in Burton’s YouTube channel, got over 430,000 views since last Friday and is ranked #8 of global most viewed YouTube videos in the Entertainment category this week.
