This weeks Viral Friday #1 position goes to YouTube with Interactive Card Trick. YouTube added a new feature for video creators with which you can add interactive commentary to your videos. The runner up spot is for Giovanny Gutierrez with Why every guy should buy their girlfriend Wii Fit. Giovanny filmed his girlfriend while playing Wii Fit. Bad Day At The Office completes this week’s top 3. It all started when a guy accidentally (or not) pushed some paperwork off his colleagues desk…

Do you want to see this week’s list from 1 to 10? Go on then, and have a look! We’d like to hear your opinion about the virals. Have fun!

1. Interactive Card Trick

YouTube added a new feature for video creators: annotations. “Video Annotations are a new way for you to add interactive commentary to your videos. Use them to add background information about the video, create stories with multiple possibilities (viewers click to choose the next scene) or link to related YouTube videos, channels, or search results from within a video.” The above video is one of the first to use the new feature. The video, starring “international mentalist performer” Oren Shalom and uploaded by werneroi, got over 3 million views and 190 blog reactions. (Source: Google Operating System)

2. Why Every Guy Should Buy Their Girlfriend Wii Fit

About two weeks ago Giovanny Gutierrez, the director of interactive media at Tinsley Advertising, posted the above video on the company’s YouTube account. The video, starring Giovanny’s girlfriend Lauren, is not a Nintendo ad (according to Giovanny, the director of interactive media, and his girlfriend Lauren, who works in advertising…). Anyway, the video is nice to watch (and so thought 1.6 million others). (Source: Joystick Division)

3. Bad Day At The Office

It all started when the guy in the white shirt accidentally (or not) pushed some paperwork off his colleagues desk. The colleague goes absolutely insane and has to be tazed down. The whole ‘Bad Day At The Office’ show got caught on tape by the CCTV cameras and by (at least) two co-workers. Combined the videos have over 3.5 million views and over 8000 Diggs.

4. Centraal Beheer Achmea: Adam And Eve

Last September Dutch insurance company Centraal Beheer, famous for its hilarious TV commercials, banned the above commercial. Though they made many daring TV ads before, but apparently this one crossed the line. Adformatie, a Dutch marketing magazine, got their hands on the video, made by DDB Amsterdam, last week and published the ‘banned’ commercial. The commercial is a huge success, with over 600.000 views since it was uploaded last week. (Source: De Telegraaf)

5. Young Hillary Clinton

The race between Hillary and Barack is almost over, but Hillary still believes in herself. Is this the first time Hillary Clinton has refused to drop out of a race? Never before seen footage of a Young Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama! Created by and starring Jerry O’Connell and Brandon Johnson. Also starring Laci Kay as Young Hillary Clinton. The video is a 60Frames original series. (Source: YouTube)

6. Live Honda Skydiving Advert

Yesterday Daan wrote about the Honda skydiving ad, and today it’s ranked 6th in the Viral Friday charts. On May 29th, at 8:10PM, 19 skydivers spend three minutes and 20 seconds attempting to spell out the word Honda in Britain’s first live commercial, which is part of Honda’s ongoing skydiving campaign. The ad appeared during the reality show “Come Dine With Me” and, as Honda Manager of Customer Communications said, “If it works, people will know who it’s for. If it doesn’t, they won’t.”. The spelling skydivers got almost 200.000 YouTube views. (Source: Adrants)

7. Mortal Kombat: Finish Him!

Mortal Kombat was the first entry in the famous and highly controversial Mortal Kombat fighting game series by Midway Manufacturing Company, released in arcades in 1992. Comedy group GoPotato.tv from California created a hilarious spoof with Sub Zero and Liu Kang. The video got about 750.000 views on YouTube and Break.

8. Cybergroomers Won’t Let Go

To create awareness among kids the Dutch Hotline combating Child Pornography on the Internet made the “Cybergroomers won’t let go” campaign. On the cyberlokker.nl website kids can find information about how cybergroomers work and how they can recognize one. The campaign was made by OER. (Source: Lost Boys)

9. Marie Curie Actions: Chemical Party

To promote Marie Curie Actions the above video, titled ‘Chemical Party‘, was launched. Several infuential blogs, like TED and New Scientist, wrote about the commercial.

10. Facebook Gangsta

Facebook Gangsta, played by Sean Modica, is who he is because of Facebook, so he pays his respect with the above video. The song (and a ringtone) can be downloaded on his website, on which one can also buy his t-shirt. Up until now the video, created by Nick Miller and directed by Otto Cedeno got 1082 Diggs, over 80.000 views and postings on sites like ValleyWag and Laughing Squid.

  • And the music video for Viva la Vida prolly woulda been on that list too, had EMI not decided that one awesome user-created video turned official Coldplay content was enough for the new album. (The Viva la Vida music video, made by the same guy who made the O’Reilly remix video, is still being hosted by YouTube, btw.)
