This weeks Viral Friday #1 position goes to Nike with Kobe Bryant Jumps Over Snake Pool. Last month Kobe jumped over an Aston Martin to promote Nike’s Hyperdunk shoes. This time he teams up with the guys from Jackass to perform another ‘jump-stunt’. The runner up spot is for Weezer with Pork And Beans. The new music video for “Pork and Beans” by indie rock band Weezer is a Battle of the Viral Video All Stars of sorts. Biggest Drawing in the World completes this week’s top 3. Swedish artist Erik Nordenankar drawn a self portrait on our planet using a briefcase containing a GPS device which he sent around the world.

1. Kobe Bryant Jumps Over Snake Pool


Last month Kobe jumped over an Aston Martin to promote Nike’s Hyperdunk shoes. This time he teams up with the guys from Jackass to perform another ‘jump-stunt’. The Jackasses challenge Kobe, winner of the 2008 NBA MVP award, to jump over a pool filled with snakes and perform a dunk. The viral got over 5 million views on YouTube, Break and MySpace since it was uploaded last Friday and the item got covered on Yahoo! Sports, Wired, CNBC and LA Times.

2. Weezer – Pork And Beans


The new music video for “Pork and Beans” by indie rock band Weezer is a Battle of the Viral Video All Stars of sorts. The video features and pays homage to many of the internet stars we have come to love or hate. Check out the above music video and try to catch and recognize them all. There’s “Leave Britney Alone” Chris Crocker, “Chocolate Rain” Tay Zonday, “Numa Numa dance” fatty, Star Wars Kid, evolution of dance guy, the “smart” South Carolina beauty pageant contestant and many more are all lip-syncing to Weezer’s latest lyrics. Special effects include lightsaber duels, the dramatic chipmunk, daft hands & bodies, and Mentos/Coke bottle fountains. (Source: Trendhunter)

3. Biggest Drawing in the World


Swedish artist Erik Nordenankar drawn a self portrait on our planet using a briefcase containing a GPS device which he sent around the world. The paths the briefcase took around the globe became the strokes of the drawing (which passed through 6 continents & 62 countries, becoming 110,664km long). The project was his graduation project for his studies in Advertising and Graphic Design at Beckmans College of Design. In two weeks time the video of the project was viewed almost 290.000 times and over one thousand bloggers (!) posted about the story, including Gizmodo, Neatorama and Kottke.org.

4. So You Think You Can Dance

Robert Muraine, also known as “Mr. Fantastic” on the street, puts on an audition unlike any other performing a dance style he calls pop ‘n lock. The audition was for the first show of Season 4 on “So You Think You Can Dance“.

5. Britain’s Got Talent – Signature


One month ago Suleman Mirza and Madhu Singh treated the “Bitain’s Got Talent” judges to an amazing performance. The video got over 2,5 million views in just seven days. Will the dancing lawyer and sales assistant manage to exceed that performance in the semi-finals?

6. Apple & Sex And The City

To promote the Sex and the City movie you can have a look around Carrie Bradshaw’s desktop world on her MacBook Pro, engage in conversation with the girls and answer questions that could enter you in a drawing to win one of 50 official movie posters. 7. Coors Light Professional Beer Pourer


In the above video, which seems to be an ad for the Coors Brewing Company (especially for Coors Light), we see a “professional beer pourer” perform some amazing tricks. Watch for the Hook Shot, Flamingo Style, and the Double Inverted. The pro pourer also has a second video in which he and the Smooth Pour Crew perform even more amazing tricks.

8. NET10 – Evil Phone Company


TracFone is a mobile phone provider, subsidiary of América Móvil (the largest Latin American mobile network operator). TracFone is currently the sixth-largest mobile network operator and the largest mobile virtual network operator in the U.S. market with 9.895 million customers. Australian advertising agency Droga5 created the “NET10 (No Evil)” viral. The video got over 500.000 views since it was uploaded to YouTube last Friday and was posted by several influential blogs like Neatorama, Kottke, Geekologie, Gizmodo and TechEBlog. 9. Apple iTunes Viva la Vida


The new Coldplay album “Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends” is the fourth studio album by British band Coldplay and is scheduled to be released on 12 June 2008 in the UK and 17 June 2008 in North America. To promote the new album Coldplay last week offered the “Violet Hill” track for free on their website. The above video lets real fans know the new album can already be bought via the iTunes Store.

10. Bootyful Game


“Has the beautiful game been ruined by the corporate, prawn sandwich brigade who think 4 4 2 is a share price and ‘playing in the hole’ is something to do with golf?”. Thats the question Burger King asks us on their promo site footballyourway.co.uk. Visitors can register, comment and vote. The “Bootyful Game” viral is used to generate traffic to the mini site.
