Viral Friday: Paris Hilton For President

Viral Friday is the weekly viral video chart of ViralBlog, showing the 10 most popular viral videos, commercials or user-generated videos, carefully selected and ranked by popularity, viral impact & spread.
ViralFriday

This weeks Viral Friday #1 position goes to Paris Hilton with Celeb. After being compared to Barack Obama, Hilton announces she wants to compete with “the wrinkled old man with the white hair”. The runner up spot is for Calvin Klein’s Secret Obsession commercial. The commercial featuring Eva Mendes wearing nothing but her birthday costume is banned from American television because the ad is “too sexy”. The Montauk Moster completes this week’s top 3. An animal that looks like a bloated, hairless dog, except that it’s got an eagle-like beak, a prominent brow ridge and a curiously elongated front paw washed up on a beach in Montauk.

Do you want to see this week’s list from 1 to 10? Go on then, and have a look! We’d like to hear your opinion about the virals. Have fun!

The viral video got 5.7 million views in just two days time, can be found on 1.500 blogs and made it to the international news media. (Source: NOS, RTL Nieuws)

2. Eva Mendes: Secret Obsession

This commercial for Calvin Klein’s Secret Obsession perfume featuring Eva Mendes wearing nothing but her birthday costume is banned from American television because the ad is “too sexy”. A solid strategy from a marketing point of view: show a nipple, ad gets banned, ad goes viral, save media dollars. (Source: ettf.net)

3. Montauk Monster

The Montauk Moster washed up on a beach in Montauk at the far eastern end of New York’s Long Island. On Tuesday afternoon, a photo was posted on Gawker, which treated the Montauk monster with characteristic respect: “Good Luck With Your Hell Demons”. The animal looks like a bloated, hairless dog, except that it’s got an eagle-like beak, a prominent brow ridge and a curiously elongated front paw. (Source: FOXNews.com)
