1. Pink Glove Dance
Promoting awareness of breast cancer is a good thing. People run for it, wear ribbons and publish magazines. The staff of the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland decided to make a video using their pink attributes; gloves. Since the hospital staff uploaded the video to YouTube three weeks ago almost 3 million people saw the video, which makes it this week’s number one viral video.
2. Lady Gaga: Bad Romance Parody
Lady Gaga is extremely hot this week. Video charts are flushed with parodies of her Bad Romance video (her original video got almost 30 million views in three weeks). Barely Political, who you might remember from their Obama Girl videos, made this parody (1.8 million views since November 22), Shane Dawson TV made this one (1.9 million views since November 28) and TheStation got 1.6 million views since November 27 with this parody. So we think it is safe to say Lady Gaga is pretty hot at the moment.
3. Lego Matrix Trinity Help
It takes about 440 hours, but then you have a splendid piece of video material. To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the first Matrix movie, Trevor Boyd and Steve Ilett recreated the famous bullet dodge scene. In Lego. The makers did everything in their power to stay as close to the original scene in the movie, meaning recreating all 900 frames in the 44 seconds of film. Also, unlike the movie, little to no special effects were used. On their website Trevor and Steve elaborate on how they made the movie and answer some frequently asked questions. Until now, the video has been viewed 1,058,333 times.
4. The Sexy Pilgrim
CytoSport, the makers of the protein rich beverage Muscle Milk, created a campaign around Thanksgiving, featuring a sexy pilgrim (you be the judge of that). He sings a slow R&B song telling ‘you’re welcome’ to all the people saying thanks this holiday. The pilgrim’s website is just one page with a printable coupon on it, getting you a discount on Muscle Milk to take you from “so-so” to “sexy pilgrim”. The video was made by advertising agency Pereira & O’Dell and reached 837,388 views.
5. Clean It Up
“Clean It Up” is the latest launch from Orbit and made in collaboration with Evolution Bureau. The story is intended to capture the clean essence of Orbit gum and to highlight the importance of making the world a cleaner place. The more than 500 original drawings used in the video are created by street artist Goons. The video generated over 588,000 views in just a few weeks.
