Viral Friday is the weekly viral video chart of ViralBlog, showing the 5 most popular viral videos, commercials, games or user-generated videos, carefully selected and ranked by popularity, viral impact & spread.

This weeks Viral Friday #1 position goes to Susan Boyle and her Britain’s Got Talent performance. Boyle electrified viewers with her rendition of I Dreamed a Dream from the musical Les Miserables during Saturday’s launch show of Britain’s Got Talent. The runner up spot is for Saber: Sexy Lightsaber Underwear Fight. This Axe – Star Wars mashup for fake deodorant brand Saber features one guy, two girls (and some lightsabers). Hyatt’s Pasty White Chicks complete this week’s top 3. The pale girls really need a tan, so they entered Hyatt’s The Big Welcome Contest.
Do you want to see this week’s list from 1 to 5? Go on then, and have a look! We’d like to hear your opinion about the virals. Have fun!
1. Susan Boyle On Britain’s Got Talent
Britain’s Got Talent is a British television show. Talent shows are always good fun to watch, especially when people are making a fool of themselves. Last weekend though Susan Boyle showed one can’t always depend on first impressions. Boyle, a 47-year-old Scottish charity worker, electrified viewers with her rendition of I Dreamed a Dream from the musical Les Miserables during Saturday’s launch show of the third series of the ITV1 reality talent search. Her performance made Susan an instant internet hit with over 33 million views in under one week. On this YouTube version alone Susan got over 85,000 ratings, 500 video responses, over 94,000 comments and more than 123,000 people favorited the video. Within one week!

2. Saber: Sexy Lightsaber Underwear Fight
If you like Axe deodorant and Star Wars movies you’ll definitely like this commercial for the (fake) deodorant brand Saber. The video was written and directed by Adam Green, directed by Will Barratt (both from ArieScope) and produced by and starring Rileah Vanderbilt and Clare Grant. Adam and Will formed ArieScope in 1998. The video got almost 1 million views since April 6th on YouTube and Break.
3. Pasty White Chicks In Need Of A Tan
Hyatt, an international brand of hotels, introduces their Gold Passport with two “pasty white chicks”, Kim and Debby, hoping to win The Big Welcome Contest: 365 Free Nights so they can travel to the worlds best beaches to get the tan they desperately need (they are so white kids start crying thinking they’ve seen a ghost!). Kim and Debby need your help to restore their dignity and travel the world looking for the best beaches to get a tan. The winner of The Big Welcome Contest wins 365 free hotel nights as well as 1 million frequent flyer airline miles. 672,427 people watched the pale girls at YouTube since April 1st (no joke).
4. Mow The Lawn
Wilkinson Sword helps woman mowing their lawn. In the above commercial, made by JWT New York to build awareness and drive trial for the new Wilkinson Sword Quattro for Women Bikini, a bunch of glamorous girls get busy mowing their lawns, trimming their bushes and having a general ‘tidy up’ in their gardens. The video got over 400,000 views since the end of March. Fans of lawn mowing can express their feelings at the Bikini Facebook page.
5. Hellacopters Drummer Trashes Ice Drum Set
The drummer of The Hellacopters, a Swedish garage rock band, stars in this commercial for Icehotel Jukkasjärvi in Sweden, made by Jung von Matt Stockholm. Make sure to watch the making of video as well! Together the videos got almost 700,000 views since March 25th.

I have to write about Susan too. First, for my pagerank. Second, because she’s the perfect explanation of how web 2.0 works. Ugly and messy at the first sight, full of beautiful hidden gems, from time to time.
