Viral Friday: Tipp Experience

Viral Friday is the weekly viral video chart of ViralBlog, showing the 5 most popular viral videos, commercials, games or user-generated videos, carefully selected and ranked by popularity, viral impact & spread.
ViralFriday

This week’s Viral Friday #1 position goes to Tipp-Ex. The “tippexperience” YouTube channel features a nice interactive banner in which you can tell a bear and a hunter what to do to, or with, each other. The runner up spot is for The European Tour. David Howell, Paul McGinley, Marcel Siem and Rhys Davies try to skim a ball 200 yards across a lake and hit a 9 inch gong. Windows Live completes this week’s top 3 with their “double rainbow” spoof.

Do you want to see this week’s list from 1 to 5? Go on then, and have a look! We’d like to hear your opinion about the virals. Have fun!

Get our ViralBlog asset: the Viral Friday Widget! By default the widget shows you the latest Viral Friday, but it’ll also show you the seven most recent postings on ViralBlog.

1. Tipp Experience

You might have read Paul’s post yesterday about Tipp-Ex’s latest interactive campaign. The “tippexperience” YouTube channel features a nice interactive banner in which you can tell a bear and a hunter what to do to, or with, each other. The accompanying video is live since 25 August, but YouTube statistics show the views started to poor in since 1 September. Up to this moment the video has almost half a million views. You’ll find hints and tips on what to make the hunter and the bear do in the YouTube channel comments.

2. The 200 Yard Gong Shot

The European Tour hosts the most versatile golf tournaments in the world. And they have a YouTube channel dedicated to “the greatest shots ever played on The Tour, as well as top pro’s being challenged to play the most unbelievable shots.” The channel also hosts a viral video pro golfers David Howell, Paul McGinley, Marcel Siem and Rhys Davies trying to skim a ball 200 yards across a lake and hit a 9 inch gong. The video is already live since 11 August, but started to get viral two weeks ago. By now the video has almost one million views.

3. Windows Live: Double Rainbow

Surely most of you will be familiar with the guy that slightly overdoes his reaction to a ‘complete double rainbow all the way across the sky’. Windows cleverly spoofed this viral hit by using it to illustrate the possibilities of Windows Live Photo Gallery, where you can easily stitch a group of photos to create a panoramic picture. On the website you can have a look at the program and download it. The video has been viewed 91,244 times since September 1st.

4. DC Shoes: Gymkhana Three

The latest chapter in DC Shoes’ successful Gymkhana videos starts with the warning that it’s actually a blatant but cleverly crafted marketing scheme to sell products. Hip-hop duo The Cool Kids are responsible for track and Bryan Barber directed the video that was shot in 48 hours featuring DC Shoes co-Founder Ken Block in his Gymkhana Three 2011 Ford Fiesta. But of course it is all about the Gymkhana Three shoes. The video is live for almost two weeks now and has almost 300 thousand views.

5. SNCF: Bienvenue, Au Revoir

After a period of serious flashmobbing, which found it’s origin at New Yorks City’s Central Station, they have become kind off passé now. Nevertheless SNCF, the French National Railway Corporation, have come up with a very strong and funny flashmob. They took the concept a little further by making it very very personal. To be exact, they put 6 of their travelers at Central Station in the center of attention. Watch and N-joy. The video got almost 270,000 views since 26 August.
