1. Twisted Metal: Shoot My Truck With David Jaffe

Well, maybe you’ll disagree, but everyone is a bit twisted. Some in a positive and some in a negative way. And which way are twisted the creators of the upcoming Twisted Metal PS3 game? To promote the launch of the game, David Jaffe, a video game designer, drove an ice-cream truck into a desert and aimed a real M249-SAW machine gun at it. The point? Yes, the fans could fire on the truck remotely for two days (Feb 14th – 16th ) with a simple goal – to destroy it. Over 100,000 bullets were fired. And the result? Check it out yourself at Shoot My Truck. The promotional video got almost 1,3 million views in a week. That’s what I call a happy Valentine’s day for some gamers!

2. Future Hipsters

Today the Social Media Week has come to an end. During this week the whole world was reflecting the global impact of social media. This event is one of the world’s most unique global platforms regarding social media. For a promotional purpose this video has been created, about our futurehipsters, some retired bloggers and baristas who are speaking to us from the year 2062. This video became quite viral with a half million views in a week.

3. Alex Thomson Attempts The Keel Walk

A recent marketing study by InSites Consulting shows that a lot of young people like to be artists or sport-persons. No wonder that brands like Hugo Boss are really into sport sponsoring. One of their sponsoring projects includes a British skipper Alex Thomson. To spread the word a video with a keel walk attempt was created and the stunt really looks spectacular – the video went viral with over 700.000 views in 2 weeks. Maybe it should have started: “I’m Alex Thompson and this is Jackass!”

New gaming devices always generate a lot of buzz in the gaming community. Sony is releasing their new handheld device: the Playstation Vita. You’ve probably already heard about it, and if you haven’t you can catch up here. The guys at 180 Amsterdam did a splendid job with this commercial. Gamers will immediately recognize the gaming scenarios shown in the video. The video was live since the 13th of February and has more than 240.000 views. Excited about the device? It will be launching in Europe on the 22nd of February. Check the YouTube channel for more PlayStation Vita.

Dog lovers and owners want their dog to be healthy and happy, and Purina Pro Plan (the official sponsor of Westminster Dog Show) knows that. By connecting short clips of cute, happy and playful dogs in their home environment to the Pro Plan brand dog food, they got the attention of (potential) dog owners. Over 140.000 viewers got ravished since 9th of February by the cute puppy eyes and there was probably often an ‘aaahh…’.
