1. Bridgestone: Whale Of A Tale
Three friends. One Journey. Nothing unusual. Or is it? Brigdestone Tires is one of the official sponsors of this year’s Superbowl. In the run up for the big event on Sunday, Bridgestone released two trailer videos one of which is “Whale of a Tale”. The video was uploaded to YouTube a week ago and got over 470,000 views since. Both videos can be found in the official Bridgestone YouTube channel and hint at a spectacular happening on February 7, 2010. We’ll just have to wait and see. And if you can’t wait till Sunday, at the brand’s Facebook page you can watch some exclusive behind the scenes materials.
2. SSRP: Embrace Life
This great and original online ad to enforce the use of seat belt while driving is from Sussex Safer Roads Partnership. The campaign, entitled Embrace Life, tackles the issue about wearing seat belts in a different way. With no blood, gore or shock tactics, this campaign just brings out an emotional response. A user created Facebook group gathers people for the cause and tries to get the video on TV. This UK video generated more than 320,000 views in one week.
3. iPad Keynote In Less Than 180 Seconds
From a previous video we already know how great, incredible and awesome Apple really is. And with a new product like the iPad, we also knew it wouldn’t take long before a similar video would emerge. Well, here it is. And it’s incredible. In my opinion this video is just a little more awesome because the maker, Neil Curtis, stuck to the storyline of the presentation by also leaving other words in and not just summing up all the overstatements. The video has 539,046 views since it was first uploaded four days ago.
4. Ken Block: Rally Fiesta
Earlier this year Ken Block left the Subaru rally team to compete in the World Rally Campionship with Ford. The new team gor introduced with this video (around 150,000 views in 14 days). Now Monster World Rally, the name of the team, releases a video of Block preparing for the first race of the year in the Rally America series. The video got viewed over 300,000 times in just over 1 week.
5. Cerveza Andes: Teletransporter
At Andes, a very popular beer in Argentina, they noticed that guys with girlfriends don’t go out with their friends as much as before. Obviously that is bad news for Andes, so they created the Teletransponder. A soundproof booth with an integrated sound system that offers different ambient sounds to trick your girl-/boyfriend and actually placed several of these booths in Mendoza, Argentina. In two weeks time the video got viewed 220,000 times.

Embrace life was awesome. Thanks for sharing.
This one will probably have a lot of effect, and will help save lives. I especially like that they didn’t use blood and shock.
I guess we all understood the irony behind iPad. It’s amazing how social media got bombarbed with images/videos talking about iPad. Of course that most of them is showing its downsides.. but anyways it’s better to have bad advertising to a product such as this than no advertising at all. I guess apple is winning in the end after all.
