About five years ago Matt Harding gave up his game designers job to travel the world and do a silly dance everywhere he went. The runner up spot is for Gatorade with Ball Girl Makes Incredible Catch. During the Minor League match between Tacoma Rainiers and Fresno Grizzlies a ball girl makes an incredible catch on a foul ball in left field. I’m Voting Republican completes this week’s top 3. The video, written by Charlie Steak and produced by SyntheticHuman Pictures, gives a sarcastic view on another four years of Republicans.

1. Where The Hell Is Matt?

About five years ago Matt Harding gave up the game designers job he had in Brisbane, Australia, to travel the world. To keep his family and friends posted about his whereabouts he made the site wherethehellismatt.com. After a few months of traveling a traveling-companion came up with an unique idea: do a silly dance everywhere you go and film it. This tip was going to change Matt’s life for good! He posted the video of his 2003/2004 trip online in 2005, and today almost one million people watched the video.

Stride, a brand of chewing gum created by Cadbury-Schweppes, saw the video and offered Matt to make another 2 trips around the world on their expenses. His 2006 video produced a stunning 10 million views, and his most recent video is also doing very well with over 2.7 million views since it was uploaded a week ago. 2. Ball Girl Makes Incredible Catch

During the Minor League match between Tacoma Rainiers and Fresno Grizzlies a ball girl makes an incredible catch on a foul ball in left field. The popular video, with almost 2 million views on Break and YouTube, turned out to be a viral commercial for sports drink Gatorade by Element 79 Partners. 3. I’m Voting Republican

With 2.5 million views, 13.000 comments, 77 video reactions, 1.300 linking blogs and 3.784 diggs “I’m Voting Republican” is the latest political YouTube hit. 4. America’s Got Talent: Derrick Barry

For a while the America’s Got Talent jury (David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne) thought the real Britney Spears entered the stage. Closer inspection revealed it was actually Derrick Barry, a male Britney impersonator, who gave the stunning performance.

5. Ryanair Flights Have “Blowjobs” Included!

During a press conference in Düsseldorf, Germany, last June 17th journalist could barely believe their ears. Michael O’Leary, chief executive of the low-cost airline Ryanair, declared their business class tickets are “beds and blowjobs included”. The statement brought the airline a fair amount of buzz from several news sites and blogs like The London Paper, Daily Star, Hollywood Grind and Behind the Buzz. In ten days time over 250.000 people watched the video. On Ryanair.com a news item about the press conference, titled “Ryanair’s ‘Beds and Blowjobs’ video clip Climaxes to No. 1 position”, can be found.

6. Self Playing Robot Band

The Trons, a band consisting only of robots, from New Zealand are a huge internet hit. Several popular gadget blogs, including TechDigest, Nerdcore, Gizmodo, Bright, Gizmodo Japan and lots more, link to the robot band.

7. Binge Drinking Boy

The British Home Office launched a new campaign to warn 18 to 24 year olds for the dangers of excessive drinking, titled “Know Your Limits”. The campaign, made by VCCP Digital and filmed by Independent’s director Mathew Jarrett, has the tag line “You wouldn’t start a night like this, so why end it that way?” and consists of display advertising and 3 viral videos.

In his recently published book “The Three Trillion Dollar War”, Joseph Stiglitz writes that, up until today, the war in Iraq costs 3.5 trillion dollar. Every second costs 5.000 dollar, according to Stiglitz. But according to the American Service Committee, established in 1917, the war in Iraq is even more expensive.
