Purina Runs New Viral Campaign “Beggin’ Time”
Purina has launched a new viral campaign Beggin’ Time. In the campaign site created by Oddcast, people can put photos of themselves and their pets dancing to a revamped version of “U Can’t Touch This”.

Purina’s Beggin’ Time
The campaign is promoted through a partnership with CBS Radio on its websites. Banner ads are also being run on other sites to market the campaign.
The application allows users to pull images from their Facebook accounts to use in the video, as well as send the resulting video to friends through email, social networks and blogs. The campaign aims to drive traffic to the website and raise awareness of the Purina Beggin’ Dog Treats brand.
In my opinion we have seen similar campaigns by Oddcast before and my question is: will it get legs and spread virally? Whether it will be effective in increasing sales, or just something silly for people to do is yet to be seen.
However, it does have a variety of interactive features that make it fun. On the website, users can also upload their home videos of their dogs, get information about events, and learn more about the products.

Media Personalisation does work especially when tied in closer to the brand. See http://www.becomestreetfighter.com a site we at 15secondTV & PPC created for Capcom Inc.
@ Dom
Thanks for your reply. Like your game.
Hope you want o explain our audience a bit more why media personalisation does not work?
We have seen some great examples of this too…
Cheers
Igor
Well if the average pet owner is anything like me this site definitely does work.
I’m a dog owner and I think this site is a treat. I’ve created a video with me and my dog sparky and emailed it to the whole family. As of this morning it’s starring on my Facebook page too.
Love it!
