Vegas Hard Rock Hotel Runs Girl-on-Girl Viral

Vegas Hard Rock Hotel launched its viral game campaign last week, to promote its weekend pool party Rehab. The micro site was designed by Jay Schwartz of IdeaWork.

The Vegas Hard Rock Hotel micro site allows users to play a viral game involving girl-on-girl fights in the pool where players can advance to levels ranging from cell phone throwing supermodel to axe murder.

In addition, users can download a widget for their desktop complete with a midget who pops up from time to time, rate photos from weekly updated party galleries and send them to friends or to their MySpace page, enter the Ms. Rehab contest or vote on the latest contestants and watch weekly Rehab trailers online for the scoop on upcoming poolside concerts and celebrity check-ins.

I liked this concept as an example of how a viral game can actually increase heads in beds for the hospitality industry. This campaign again proves that the 3H principle works to create viral spread: Hilarious, Horryfying and Horny…

Suddenly I remembered a great viral by Vegas Hard Rock Hotel from 2005. When I searched our viral lab database, I found the 2005 campaign!

This Vegas Hard Rock Hotel viral campaign used a viral game, UGC photo contest and live pool webcams to gain its number of Hotel bookings online. See the full case study and screens here.
