Replace Bad Ads With Dove’s Ad Makeover

Did your ever thought about how it would be if you could change advertisements which you don’t like? Then you should check out Dove’s new campaign “The Ad Makeover”!

As a part of its continued effort to affirm healthy body images, “The Ad Makeover,” allows Facebook users to replace negative ads such as “jelly rolls,” “muffin tops,” and “love handles” with the beauty companies own positive ads.

Dove already has made a great name before with Dove Evolution and Dove Unslaught. The brand understands what it takes to become a viral hit and how te earn the attention instead of just buying it. It seems that this concept could become a viral hit as well.

The campaign comes in response to a survey that showed only just 4 percent of women consider themselves to be beautiful. A remarkable fact and a great reason for Dove to help women with their self-esteem.

So let’s see how it works!

Great idea, or not?

Fernando Machado, Global Brand Development VP Dove Skin at Unilever, explains:

“Dove has always listened to women, and we are giving them a new way to be heard through this first-of-its-kind Facebook app. We chose to use Facebook because of its power and reach in social media, which would propel these positive beauty messages to be seen by as many women as possible.”

For now there’s only one bad thing about the campaign, at least for all women that are not from Brazil or Australia, as The Ad Makeover is only available in these 2 countries.
