Why To Leverage Location Based Marketing?
Smartphones, tablets and other devices are used more and more, people are always connected.
How can businesses, regardless of their size and turn-over, leverage on location based marketing and attract more consumers?
Nowadays technology provides almost endless opportunities, but for some reasons some businesses are afraid or not flexible enough to adopt them. One of them is location based marketing and here are some tips and ideas how to make good use of it.
First of all, the correct listing of stores and offices is extremely important. That means, business owners have to make sure that all the places are listed on all the major location-based marketing services (Google+ Local, Foursquare, Facebook, and other country specific listings). In this case, don’t be afraid to provide all contact information, the more the better.
Reward consumers with incentives. Why? Because they are already used to it. I really like receiving free welcome drink for being a mayor of a local pub, so do others.
Provide additional value with local tips, via already existing platforms like Foursquare.
I mentioned it before, but still have a feeling it’s not taken as granted. Responsive websites and apps are critically important. If the content is not displayed correctly, people won’t bother trying to navigate through it and you’re loosing a potential lead. They won’t try again in a few months…

I love to explore new places with my smartphone in hand and probably missed some great ones just because of not being able to find them – online. Location based marketing can turn in prospects and it’s up to the businesses to turn them into customers.
The tools are out there, for free and it’s a pity one does not take advantage of it.
