Why Gatorade’s Locker Room Makeover Is Awesome
Watch what happens when a run-down New Orleans high-school locker room gets a complete NBA makeover by Gatorade in less than one hour.
Giving back to the community is one way that NBA stars can help future generations, and many players do their best to help out when they can.
When Miami Heat star player Dwyane Wade visited New Orleans for the NBA All-Star game this past weekend, he took some time to visit a local high school team playing a game they had to win to advance to the state playoffs for the first time in twenty years.
During half time of that game, the Riverdale players sat on worn wooden benches and talked strategy inside a messy concrete locker room lined with dented orange and brown metal lockers.
After the team pulled out a hard-fought 67-64 victory in the second half, it came back to a great surprise. The players were thrilled when they saw the professional-like locker room:
Dwyane Wade gave a speech to the astonished team about why it’s important to have a inspiring locker room. This all together was a beautiful connection to the NBA All Star Game, along with with a beautiful concept by Gatorade.
