1. Jimmy Kimmel – Lie Detective
Jimmy Kimmel Live recently featured the first episode of Jimmy Kimmel Lie Detective and the clip went through the roof on Kimmel’s You Tube channel with 4,4 million views in a week. 2. Surface by Microsoft
Almost everyone knows Aplle iPad and people now claim Microsoft “stole” the idea from Apple. But it was Microsoft who came up with the first tablet in 2002 which failed and was sent to rest in a silicon heaven. So here’s the new attempt to enter the tablet market, Microsoft Surface. The video is classy and got more than 5 million views in less than 4 days. Unfortunately Microsoft should focus more on the tech details than on advertising, as the introduction of Surface is almost similar as Windows 98 presentation. An iPad killer? Will see. And Microsoft please work on Surface’s suicidal tendencies…
3. Behind The Scenes At A McDonald’s Photo Shoot
Maybe the the marketing department of McDonald’s have seen that the world is becoming more open and transparent when they thought of the idea for this video. Does the food look always better in advertising than in real life? Why is it so? Well one of McDonald’s customer had the same question and here’s the answer – a side by side comparison of an actual burger with the same one from am ad photo shoot. Not surprisingly the same ingredients are used, they just know how to make it look better. It seems that the crowd also liked this inside view because the video already got over over 3 million views in 3 days.
4. The Hoff’s German Cousin: Mr. Lean
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhgM5-mQCF8
David Hasselhof as Mr. Lean is the “new face” of Lean Pockets, a pretzel bread sandwiches brand from Nestle. There’s already a lot of buzz around the videos, many take it as offensive – body policing, sexual objectification, fat hatred, etc. Of course you can’t please everyone at the same time but people please don’t take everything soooo seriously, it’s just an ad. If you’re a bit more open-minded person, have a look at more videos at Lean Pockets YouTube channel or Facebook fan page. And as even a “bad advertising” is advertising, Mr. Lean got more than 1,7 million views since June 11th.
