1. KONY 2012

A 30-minute film about atrocities by a central African warlord to children, Joseph Kony, has ignited an online storm by being watched in 5 days more than 53 million times only on YouTube only. But the charity behind it – Invisible Children –  is facing criticism for its Hollywood-style campaigning. The film has been an almost instant viral success, dominating Twitter worldwide and having one of the fastest ever take-offs on You Tube. An addtional 445,000 people have “liked” it on Facebook and on Twitter, celebrities such as Justin Beiber, Will Smith and J.K. Rowling have pushed the trend by sending out tweets. One tweet by P. Diddy was retweeted more than 57,000 times. Even White House spokesman Jay Carney referenced to it on Thursday in his daily briefing. But it has also attracted criticism: there are questions about the charity’s funding. This Tumblr page is collecting criticism of the project and this blog sums up a lot of the questions. Invisible Children issued a detailed response to the criticism here. If you want to take action, here are the possibilities.

2. Dollar Shave Club – F***ing Great Blades

The Dollar Shave Club is probably the simplest and cheapest invention for men. Shave time, shave money. It couldn’t be simpler. The Dollar Shave Club offers great razors with a low monthly fee, and they’ll send them straight to your door. Why would you spend more than is really necessary? You probably never knew that you were over-paying for a fancy brand? This video was launched the march 5th and became quite viral within a few days. Today it has more than 1.9 million views. So see how it works. The way this video has been made up is genuinely genius, have a look yourself.

3. Invisible Mercedes

Usually if you want to promote your product or service you don’t make it invisible. Thinking – more exposure, more sales. Theoretically. Mercedes was probably having some new inspiration and instead of placing their new vehicle squarely in front of everyone in the world, the company decides to make the car invisible. They’re doing things new and fresh, I guess? At least this video is quite smashing. Since the launch, March 3rd, the video has been viewed more than 6,1 million times, becoming viral, and not invisible as the car.

4. L’Odyssée de Cartier

Powerful, sexy, edgy and adventurous, that is what the new commercial of Cartier is. The sexy leopard takes  you on an adventure through diamonds and gold to dangerous and mysterious Cartier creatures. If you were not in love with Cartier already the clip made you and the 1,8 million viewers  since 28th of February to be so. Check out the whole collection at Cartier Odyssee.

5. Round up your mates on St. Patrick’s Day

For the Irish, St. Patrick’s Day is a religious feast day and the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. It does not matter where the Irish are, they put on green clothes, round up and celebrate the saint on the 17th of March. And as gathering all your friends for this special day might be difficult with various obstacles on the way, Guinness has trained a highly specialized sheepdog to round up mates and ensure they get to the pub on St Patrick’s Day. So round up and celebrate! And give that collie a Guinness…deserves it!
