This weeks Viral Friday #1 position goes to Lufthansa Airbus A320. Last week the passengers of an Airbus A320 escaped disaster when the the airplane they were in got caught in a fierce crosswind and almost crashed. Luckily the co-pilot managed to control the airplane and make a go-around. The runner up spot is for Jack Nicholson with Jack and Hill. The online video through which Hollywood star Jack Nicholson has tendered his support to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign has become a huge hit. Kanye Hands completes this week’s top 3. Since 2001 a true craze originated around “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”, a track by the French electronic music collaboration Daft Punk. After several user generated clips featuring the song YouTube duo Barats & Bereta score a huge hit with this video.

1. Lufthansa Airbus A320
Last week the passengers of an Airbus A320 escaped disaster when the the airplane they were in got caught in a fierce crosswind and almost crashed. First the plane’s right wing touched the runway, then the left one. Eventually the 24 year old co-pilot managed to control the airplane to make a go-around. The incident got caught on amateur video. 2. Jack and Hill
The online video through which Hollywood star Jack Nicholson has tendered his support to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign has become a huge hit. In the video ‘Jack and Hill’ features excerpts from some of Nicholso’s hit films – namely Batman, The Shining, Chinatown, and A Few Good Men – as “Who do you trust?!” (The Joker, Batman) and “There is nothing sexier than a woman that you have to salute in the morning” (Col. Nathan R. Jessep, A Few Good Men). The video which has been online since last Saturday, gathered over 1.4 million views. 3. Kanye Hands
Since 2001 a true craze originated around “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”, a track by the French electronic music collaboration Daft Punk. Several clips featuring the song circulate on YouTube, including ‘Daft Hands‘, ‘Daft Bodies‘, ‘Daft Dancing Girl‘ and ‘Daft A Cappella‘ by the Carleton Singing Knights. Kanye West used Daft Punk samples on his album ‘Graduation’ in the song ‘Stronger‘. The video Kanye Hands got 1.3 million views in just two weeks time. (Source: Youngmarketing)
4. We Are The Ones Song
After the huge success of the Yes We Can song by rapper Will.i.am and producer Jesse Dylan the Black Eyed Peas frontman returned to his studios for a new Obama ‘anthem’. The video ‘We Are The Ones Song’ is very popular; the catchy song got about one million views in a week.
5. Evolution of Dance With Optimus Prime
The song ‘Evolution of Dance‘ by Judson Laipply lead the YouTube All Time Most Viewed rankings for quite a long time with over 77 million views. Last week though the video got thrown off it’s throne by the CANSEI DE SER SEXY Music is My Hot Hot Sex video that got almost 90 million views in just two weeks time. Several techsites as Valleywag and ReadWriteWeb suspect evil intentions. After being the number one clip for a few days YouTube removed the video from the All Time charts so now Judson Laipply can climb back on it.s throne again. Patrick Boivin from Belgium made a tribute to his favorite clip is an Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots, costume.
6. Facebook Anthem
The people behind Rebelvirals.com made an anti-Facebook song in reaction to the Facebook Song. In the lamentation (to the tunes of “We Didn’t Start The Fire” by Billy Joel) they express how done they are with all the Facebook applications and invites.
7. Tower of Terror
To promote the new ‘freefall’ attraction “The Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror” Dinseyland Resort Paris started a viral USG campaign. By uploading their photos which will then be made to appear as if they have traveled to the fourth dimension consumers are offered the chance to have their own TV or radio advert for the Tower being produced by professionals. People who want to participate can upload their creation to the special minisite and the public will then vote for the winner within a pre-selection of 5 entrants. (Source: Trendhunter)
8. Powered by You
Young & Rubicam Toronto created this new commercial for Ford. The campaign is titled “Powered by You” and performed by Connecticut based dance company Pilobolus; the same group that also performed in Hyundai’s Santa Fe commercial late 2006.
9. Do The Green Thing
In order to spread their believes, Play, a London based digital agency, made the above video. In the video we see people playing penguins… The moral of the story is to show only people that work together will survive. Or, as Play states on their website, “Play believes people are interactive, so brands should be too”. The ‘Do The Green Thing’ campaign is conducted by a special Green Thing website.
For more than 15 years, Foster Farms were using the same two characters for their commercials; “The Foster Imposers“. These two chickens try to be Foster Farms chickens, but they can’t because they are clearly not fresh and natural. Spanish advertising agency Grupo Gallegos made the new Foster Farms commercial, a Dove Evolution spoof. The Transformation commercial will also be aired on TV.
