ViralFriday

This week’s Viral Friday #1 position goes to Pixels By Patrick Jean. New York City is taken over by Pixels! This brilliant promo video by Patrick Jean and One More Production is definitely worth watching. The runner up spot is for Modern Warfare: Frozen Crossing. This fan made tribute to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series was made with a budget of only 200 dollar. And it’s very good! Le Tour Du Monde En 80 Secondes completes this week’s top 3. Sony has a new camera, the HX5V, with built-in GPS. How do you communicate that in a cool way? Go around the world in 80 seconds!

Do you want to see this week’s list from 1 to 5? Go on then, and have a look! We’d like to hear your opinion about the virals. Have fun!

New York city is taken over by Pixels! Patrick Jean and One More Production are responsible for this truly amazing short film in which Tetris, Pac-Man, Space Invaders and other 8-bit computer legends take over the Big Apple. The film got over 2.3 million views in 9 days and got posted by many influential blogs like Boing Boing.

2. Modern Warfare: Frozen Crossing

Who said viral videos have to be under a minute long? This seven-and-a-half minute tribute to the Modern Warfare game reached over 1 million views in just over a week. The video, called Modern Warfare: Frozen Crossing, is a tribute to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series and was made with a budget of just over 200 dollar. According the YouTube description “Part II is actually coming! It’s shot and we’re working on post production now. Look for it in the near future.” Full credits are on the Corridor Digital site.

3. Le Tour Du Monde En 80 Secondes

Sony has a new camera, the HX5V. What’s cool about this camera is that it has built-in GPS so you know where you are (in case you didn’t). Photographer Alex Profit used the camera to make a world trip in 80 seconds using stop-motion technique. The agency behind the video is Rapp Paris. Of course in 80 seconds there is only so much you can see of the world, so Profit decided to leave the southern hemisphere for what it is. Still it’s a cool video (check the making of!) which has already been viewed 818,699 times on YouTube since 31 March.

4. Nitro Boat VS Whiney Girlfriend

Imagine yourself fishing with your girlfriend: there is nothing like it! Good thing Nitro fishing boats come with special options. Nitro released a fun commercial featuring a boat and one whiney girlfriend. Indeed, fishing will never be the same. The video was uploaded to YouTube and got over 600,000 views in three weeks’ time as well as many comments and likes.

5. Exit Through The Gift Shop: Sneak Peak

The sneak peak of Exit Through the Gift Shop has been viewed 237,381 times since April 5. It tells the incredible true story of how French Thierry Guetta an eccentric documentary maker attempted to locate and befriend the elusive street artist Banksy. The film contains exclusive footage many of the world’s (most infamous) graffiti at work, on walls and in interview. As Banksy describes it, it’s basically the story of how one man set out to film the un-filmable. And failed.
